Not all Suburbs have the A5 camera fitted.

It all depends on the trim level or way the car was specced from the factory.

Er, yes. Thought this was common knowledge.

You need the big camera to enable lane assist.

You have it if your car has traffic sign recognition or the high beam assist by factory

Unfortunately not all members know this, some have bought the SE L assuming the A5 camera was fitted, likewise I have had a few requests to code cars that do not have the correct hardware.

So is it true that it is impossible to activate Traffic Sign Recognition on Superb FL 2020 m.y.? Like, no way at all?

Can a Skoda Dealer do that (for a bunch of bucks of course)?

Here is the coding for the lane departure warning and lane assist working in my MY20 Superb Combi. Camera is the new Valeo cam "MQB MFK 3.0":

STG A5 > Codierung > …

> Byte 05 > Bit 6 aktivieren („ACC“, 1-coded)
> Byte 08 > Bit 5-7 auf "A0 Point_of_Intervention,late_setting_over_menu" setzen
> Byte 09 > Bit 0-1 auf "03 Configuration_for_lane_departure_warning_kl15,Last_setting" setzen
> Byte 09 > Bit 2-3 auf "0C Lane_Assist_system_mode,Selection_over_menu" setzen

> Byte 09 > Bit 7 aktivieren („HC“, 1-coded)
> Byte 17 > Bit 0 aktivieren ("HC_messages,1-coded")
> Byte 17 > Bit 1-3 auf "02 Warning_intensity,Menu" setzen
> Byte 17 > Bit 5-7 auf "20 HC_Variante_1" setzen

STG 5F > Anpassung > …

> Kanal "Car_Function_List_BAP_Gen2-LDW_HCA_0x19" > Wert auf "aktiviert" setzen
> Kanal "Car_Function_List_BAP_Gen2-LDW_HCA_0x19_msg_bus" > Wert auf "Datenbus Extended" setzen
> Kanal "Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_Lane_Departure_Warning" > Wert auf "aktiviert" setzen
> Kanal "Car_Function_Adaptations_Gen2-menu_display_Lane_Departure_Warning_over_threshold_high" > Wert auf "aktiviert" setzen

STG 17 > Codierung > …

> Byte 04 > Bit 6 aktivieren ("Spurhalteassistent / Lane Assist verbaut")
> Byte 11 > Bit 1 aktivieren ("Spurhalteassistent / Lane Assist Information (BAP) verbaut/aktiv")

STG 44 > Zugriffsberechtigung: 19249 > Codierung > Byte 03 > Bit 0 aktivieren ("Spurhalteassistent verbaut")

Hi, I have a MY20 SEL which has HBA, am I right in thinking that I could get lane departure warning and lane assist activated?

Also, I'm considering purchasing obd11, would it be possible to do the coding for these with obd11, or would it require VCDS?

One other query.... I would I've to retrofit an OEM reversing camera. Has anyone done this on a FL version yet? My Skoda dealer tried but couldn't find where it needed to be activated!

Thanks!

Do you have the A5 camera or the 20 camera?

A5 = yes, 20 = no

Is there a way to check which one visually, or will it need to be plugged in to scan it?

If you only have high beam assist, it's probably a lowline. If you have either lane assist or traffic sign recognition, it's a highline.

Typically the following is true:

- A lowline (20) camera is built into the rear view mirror base.

- A highline (A5) camera is stuck directly to the windscreen and have a triangular cutout to 'see' through.

Example lowline:

Adam's T5.1 GP - UK-POLOS.NET - THE VW Polo Forum

Example highline:

B8 Lane assist camera — Volkswagen Passat Variant, 2.0 liter, 2012 year on DRIVE2

Thanks, not the best picture from my side, but I'm 99% certain I have the highline camera.

My rear view mirror definitely doesn't look like the lowline one above.

Hello, on my superb 2020, I activated lane assist using the car scaner program of a Russian developer.  This requires an elm327 adapter and a program.  Besides this, there are many additional settings.

OBD11 is perfectly fine for all of this!

Just tried this on a MY2021 SEL iV but I’m getting an ALA unavailable message.

Am I missing something? Is there an MMI reboot that I need to do for the codings to become active?

performed on OBD11 Pro

Any help would be greatly appreciated

MMI reboot and having the CAN go to sleep (by leaving the car off for like 30mins) is needed.

Following some advice in addition to this, namely clearing the errors reported by the control units during the setup process.. I now have fully functional ALA.

Thank you

Would like this on my MY21 L and K iV. Are there any implications with warranty etc. on a new car.

There shouldn’t be, I activated this on my previous lease car and it was never an issue.

However if you’re nervous about the issue, you could always revert the settings when you take the vehicle in for service.

Does that really work for the 2020 Facelift model?

Can someone confirm this for 2020 Superb?
