Hello,

   I asked few dealers in Romania if they can activate Smartlink on this unit and some of them told me is possible, others said that is not possible.

The message in the screenshot says that "Smartlink function is not active. Contact your dealer"

 

Can anyone tell me please how can I install Smartlink on this device and the reason in case it is not possible? Is it MIB1, is it old version of software? Can the software be upgraded?

Possible but you have to contact your Skoda dealer, I don't know anyone who hacks these units.

All check your PMs for dwonload link. No message means you already have the latest firmware.

I've just got an Octavia Mk3 MY16 with a system that I think is a retrofit. Either way is there a software update available for this please?

@pab567 Thanks for letting me know. I have an issue where Android Auto drops out and I was hoping that the bug was fixed in a newer FW, is there no safe way to do it?

SW upgrade will kill patch so unit will be locked with component protection. Try different cable between USB and your phone.

So there's the harmless component protection fault code I have now, or a complete lockout if I attempt an upgrade? Glad I found out before I broke everything!

complete lockout, unit will have to be patched again.

Hi I have an Octavia 2018 which the Infotainment is on 4.68 software, I know there is a 4.80 version - where can I get it and what are the instructions for updating please? I get some issues with Android Auto connection being unreliable, changed cables and phones and the problem persists, so I want to see if a software update helps.

Im looking to update the firmware of my Skoda rapid.

 

Its currently running version:  MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0359T

 

Mib-helper shows me:

 

Latest available firmware updates:
Latest official firmware update: MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0369T (MU: 0369, details).
Latest possible firmware update: MST2_EU_SK_ZR_P0480T (MU: 0480, details).

 

Can someone tell me what the difference is between the official and latest possible version, and share me a download?

@demanmetdehamer @askee  Hello, it's not just an update, it's a transition from 03xx to 04xx, for the unit to accept the sw you have to modify the unit and you have to modify the update itself. Please write to me if you are interested.
