Amundsen MIB2 Firmware Update

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if my update went well. I can see little changes on the interface. like map (circled) was green previously and now it is always red. Also functions option were horizontal instead of vertical. Is there any options to revert these changes. i like the way there previously.

The dealer attitude is always to NOT update a working system.

Unless you walked in with a specific complaint, and they checked the TPI document and they got a match, they won't do a thing.

Example "Bluetooth is unstable" and upon checking TPI, this is listed as a symptom.

Anyhow, you have MHI2_ER_SKG13_P4526

Version 1440

Will be sent to you in a few moments

Should I put Y(yes) on section inic and powerc when I update?

I left all the settings alone, it should check version in the car, and then compare version available in update.... and then it chooses Y/N as needed.

So to also make things safe, leave all values alone (as default)

You will want to press the menu/setup button for about 10 seconds to get the software train inside the engineering menu.

Guys,

Anybody who wants to update the MIB2 firmware, do you know that there will be an error B201A00 in your Multimedia (5f) control unit (if you run the diagnostic) and globe sign in the interface will be red with a lock key underneath. Does anyone know how to fix these issues?

Mine too was red with key symbol even before I updated it.

When you complete the flash process, it would have asked you if you wish to connect a diagnostic session.

Because you don't have the dealer software, you have to press No/Cancel, so the car stores this Software Version Management code, simply because it was not able to talk to the 'mothership' and get the required handshake it needed.

You can fix this with VCDS offline, and read a challenge value, perform a calculation, and then input this.  Afterwards you can clear the fault.

SVM Clearing

This doesn't affect the operation.

That's completely normal after a firmware update and is trivial to fix.

You need to grab a value from the "Confirmation of installation change" channel, XOR it with C9D2 then enter the new value :)

OBDeleven example below and you can use http://mib-helper.com/im-so-xory/ for the XOR calculation...

Thanks guys. What about the red globe sign with key underneath. what is that for? previously it was either green or white.

It will be some form of online connection, but I don't use, so not sure how you will fix.

Firmware & instructions worked great ! Took 15 mins or so.
Thanks a lot !
(Used a microSD with a SD card adapter, the USB while it said it detected an update, did not enable the USB option in the engineering menu.)

You might want to add a little more information...

What diagnostic tool are you using and maybe share some screenshots to show what you've tried :)

To be honest, value doesn't get changed but adaptation should have said Successful. Then this error code will not appear anymore.
