Thanks, downloaded yesterday and installed it today during my drive home.

 

BUT... I've lost Smartlink? It is no longer unlocked.. ☹️

Usually you don't loose the activation codes, but it can occur.

 

It also happens when it's been unlocked with a tool, and then new firmware flashed.

 

 

Fixing will depend on how the code was originally enabled.  If from factory, then you will need online connection so factory can re-input the code needed.  If someone used a tool, then you will have to pay Skoda, or hack unit to insert codes needed.

It was indeed unlocked by tool. 

Guess I'll have to contact the "unlocker" again then.

If you have developer mode still enabled, then odds are you can fix yourself.

 

Test by holding down your setup/menu key to enter engineering menu, then hold down button again for about 10 seconds and you may see developer menu.

 

If not you can enable with VCDS for example.

Also, my Smartlink doesn't "pop", the phone just charges when I plug it in, Android Auto doesn't start, tried different cables on two Xiaomi and on Samsung phone.

p.s. the Android Auto might need a dealer/independant garage to enter an activation code to enable this, post a picture of message you get on the screen to show if possible (translate if needed please)

We have a few King's helping here.

 

Can you get into your engineering menu (press your Menu/Setup key for 10 seconds) and look for Software Train.

Odds are I know what you have, but it also shows you where to update.
