Skoda Octavia Sat nav SD Card Problems!

Featured Replies

I am hoping someone will be able to help me with this 🤞

My car: Skoda Octavia Mkiii 1.6TDi SE 63 Plate

I have bought myself a Skoda SD Card with the code beginning 5L0 which I know is for the Mib2 Amunsden.

I have the Mib1 Amunsden (with the cd tray above the sd slots) and I am under the impression that as long as I put the correct files on the SD card this should still work?

I have input my VIM into the skoda portal and downloaded the files onto the SD card for maps. I put the whole extracted folder onto the card and the navigation screen still displays the "input valid medium blah blah blah...", what am I doing wrong? 😅.

I unlock that card whilst in the laptop and lock it when putting it into the car. If anyone can talk me through what files I should be putting on the card this might be the solution 📁🤔😁

There's one or two issues that have been known to cause problems. Using a Mac to download and extract is the most well known issue but assuming you're using a Windows pc and from reading the information supplied in your post the problem could simply be that you've put the whole extracted folder onto the SD Card when in fact the only folder that should be copied onto the SD Card is the folder contained inside that one named " Maps ". Nothing else. Maybe that's the issue.

You assume correct bigade, I am running Windows 10. Fingers crossed what you have said about the folder will be the solution, so just to make sure I have it right it is the folder within the folder named "Maps"? Not the actual folder named "Maps"?

I use a mixture of the 5E0 and 5L0 Skoda SD cards with my MIB1 Amundsen - both work fine.

What I do is download the zip file onto my PC hard disk and unzip it there - that results in a folder called "markets" and a file called "DBinfo.txt", you just format the SD card (or delete all the files from it but format is quicker) and copy the folder AND the file to the SD card.

If you've got a folder called "Maps" then I suspect you have downloaded the wrong map file for your MIB1 Amundsen.

Thanks Dave, it now works a treat 😁
