Medway services just after J4 on the M2 looks pretty convenient.

I would think to get down to Dover an hour before the ferry leaves we need to be at Dover at 7am really (for an hour check in) so would say we need to meet at Medway at 6am at the latest and leave at 6.15. It doesn't look too far to Dover from there and is all 70mph Mway and duallie.

Anyone read this???????

If it were me I would book another 4 berth cabin (maybe an 8?) just to be on the safe side, which leaves room for another 2 or 6 people to come potentially. Pretty sure between now and August someone else will come on board as well.

If we book another four berth I'll try and rustle up a petrol head mate from work - but can't be certain that he'll bite. Otherwise - is the sofa a sofabed or can this be arranged and we heavily discount or not charge the sofabed user at all?

I was going to say there must be the facility for a couple of extra people to stay in each cabin? I'm happy to bring an airbed and my own bedding, for discounts on beer. I will literally sleep anywhere with my own duvet and pillow.

Its not easy trying to organise a trip like this and i want to make it as easy as possible for the people who haven't been before and enjoyable for those who have already been.

waiting a couple of weeks before booking another cabin sounds like a good idea Alex , as my brother emailed me tonite to say he wont get holiday confirmation till next week , i have told him it would be better this week though , in the meantime i will send you the cheque for my share of the cabin bill then send you another if and when my brother confirms , obviously if more go ,the figures you originally had for the cabin costs per person are likely to change anyway , up or down i don't mind , i just want to get on that bit of road in germany

As you can see everyone,its slowly getting that everyone is sending me there money,from what i can gather so far Boyced hasn't confirmed that he's coming so we should be back to 16 people now.

If the rest of you could arrange to send me the payment it would be very appreciated,i have booked the accomodation on my credit card so will end up having interest charges soon.

And i obviously haven't included them in the final cost.

Everyone with "ferry booked" in the list above I'm 99.9% sure are on the 8am norfolkline ferry to Dunkerque. Personally its pointless me convoying, so I might leave the day before and find somewhere to stay near Dover. I would suggest meeting outside the ferry port, rather than enroute, as there's different ways for people to get to Dover.

The "others" are all getting the chunnel at the same time which means they'll be there a fair bit earlier.

Finer details I'm sure will be ironed out by Alex a bit nearer the time.

Would be easiest, to either all meet after check in, or there is a car park on the left as you go along Dover front by a petrol station (pay and display) we could all meet there if not.

This List is now back down to 16 people,which is where it is staying!!!

I have done this as these are the people who have been in contact with me and have definately booked crossings etc.

i hope everyone agrees with this decision.

Well in relation to times and meeting up,

The people who are using the tunnel are getting the 7:58am tunnel crossing and the people who are getting the ferry are getting a similar time but as the crossing takes longer than the tunnel we are going to all meet at the 1st services in Belgium.

The tunnel users will be there before the ferry users,that gives us time to have breakfast,fill up with fuel and then all head off.

Hopefully we won't have to stop after that and can get to the Ring in not much over 4 hours dependant on the traffic and getting our foot down a bit!!!!!
