Navigation system will not load

Featured Replies

Hi folks, I hope all are well. I am at my wits end with the Skoda Octavia Estate 2020 navigation system. After only 8 months it has suddenly stopped loading showing error message 'navigation database not available'. I have watched some vids on youtube and looked in the owners manual but cannot make hear or tail of it. I took the sd card out and have tried to update the map but every time I try to download the new map it stops halfway through with a 'network error'. Any ideas why it stopped working? Am I going down an unnecessary rabbit hole trying to update the map? Maybe there is a more obvious fix for such a young car? Any help massively appreciated.

SD card? Mk4 Octavia doesn't have a SD card. :wondering:

Hi @TheUltraRunner thanks so much for the reply. I have a Skoda Octavia Estate 2020 but I am not sure if it is a mk4? The spec is TSI SE Technology 5 door. Does that help at all?

Unfortunately not. Do you have split lights in the front? :)

Hi, yes it does have split lights at the front.

I've asked a mod to move this to the MK3 section.

This seems to come up fairly frequently and although plenty of threads do have instructions, it's not always obvious which apply.

Give me an hour or two and I'll throw together a guide for the MIB2/MIB2.5 Amundsen which is what I assume the OP has.

Hopefully this will help:

Any feedback or if you see any obvious mistakes, just let me know :)

I am sure that a Briskoda member can update the maps for your car (as long as your SD card is not broken) if @langers2kguide is not working for you.

To make 100% sure, can the OP - @seancannonplease post a photo of the front screen of his entertainment system to make sure it is a Amunsden system; the process of updating maps for the Amunsden system vs the top end Columbus system are very different.

Hi @varaderoguythanks for the help. Images attached.

My main challenge is that whenever I try to download the new map (and I am really not sure which one I should download so went for the smallest size uk one which would be fine), it gets between 50 and 99 percent through then the download fails. Is this a problem with my internet / computer? Do others find this problem?

Great - thank you. Where can I see your guide that @varaderoguy mentions above?

Ignore last message - just saw it up the string!  Doh!
