Made a start on sorting the door wiring looms.

the standard citigo only comes with single electric window switch and manual mirrors.

the up has the facelift mirrors with integrated indicators, electric and heated.

and the double window switch

with a nice brushed ally handle on the trim.

Standard door

so stripped the door open to remove old loom and refit the gti looms

as you can see a much more substantial loom with loads more wires

Finished product just needs a good clean

only had one good mirror from doner hence the blue other side. Was surprisingly hard to find an electric and heated one. I’ll change caps shortly when I find one

You could try Jas at CitigoParts, I'm sure he'd have a black cap in stock

After you had installed the new loom did the electric window and central locking in the drivers door still work?  Reason I ask is that I have a door loom from a twin window switch Citigo that I want to swap into my drivers door. I know the passenger window switch will not function without some additional wiring across to the other door.

The central locking still works but windows do not, must be a few wires in different places coming out the door. Obviously not a major issue for me as I’ll be changing the rest of loom to match in a month or so

Will have a closer look at the plug and compare with the original one and hopefully it'll just be a case of repositioning some wires and running some extra wires for the second window switch.

bottoms original obviously a lot more wires in new one as it gains electric heated mirrors with built in indicators too, and the double switch.
Im sure it could be worked out with wiring diagram

Got a few little bits to fit,

some fake carbon mirror caps only as they were cheaper then buying one black one lol

and also some boot trims to get rid of the bare metal back there, something it should have had from factory :)

How a normal citigo boot looks

Really enjoying following your journey/project and getting inspired maybe do a few cheeky bits to my 2015 Monte. Had it remapped yesterday and dropped in a K&N filter that along with using Ron97 petrol has transformed it. I’ll look out for you in York.

keep posting.

Good stuff they are pretty good as they are :). What colours your Monte as I’ve only ever seen one on ring road

Fitted the exhaust today as I’m still trying to clear down what bits I can get rid off before the strip down, it’s ridiculously loud on an n/a engine as I was kinda expecting. Only need to put up with it for a few weeks before I start though so that good.

Hopefully going to get the gti bumper sprayed soon that’s next priority.
Fitted some powerflex exhaust hangers, and the crossmember from the gti too as mine was rusted.

Thought I’d whip the inlet manifold for a little clean as some oil had got into throttle body when it was upside down, just to check. Turns out it was minimal which was good so just a little clean and back together. Also allowed me to run the vac pipe for dump valve nice and hidden underneath.

Cheer for comments all :),

got a few more bits on order and a list of bits to change next week.

Interior stuff left is,

All dashboard stuff back in,

Swap throttle pedal

Swap clutch pedal (can’t use original as different for stop start, the connector is built into master cylinder)

Fit Fuel Pump and Fuel Pump Ecu (new gasket on order for pump)

Stop start module under pass seat to fit

Beats amplifier under drivers seat to mount

Aerial base to fit (oem dab from donor)

Black headlining from donor.

Then engine bay wise

Abs module to change, donors a much later revision number on pump then original so going to change to save any coding issues)

Clutch slave cylinder swap and bleed

Gear-selector linkage to swap, so heat shield needs dropping over exhaust.

Going to heat proof the back of engine bay as obviously that’s where the turbo/exhaust is and there’s no shielding there on mine. I’ve got some fancy gold forge motorsport heat tape coming.

New radiator on order as it’s got the extra connector for cooler on inlet manifold. From research it’s the same size as normal up so hopefully my rad fan will fit nicely

Then engine Ecu to mount in wing as oem

Fit engine

New Engine oil/filter and gearbox oil

Fit driveshafts

And door lock and locking fuel cap to swap over at some point too to fit donor key

Jobs a gooden lol

Not much this morning,

*Drivers door barrel swapped to match new key along with locking fuel cap.

*Gear linkage bolted to gearbox

*wiper linkage fit and wipers on

*soundakator and control unit fitted under scuttle

*front washer hose connected to jets

Pic of soundakator and control unit, amazing how it has the holes already there to bolt too :)
