Vcds ECU pin code, how to access

Featured Replies

Hi I have a 2011 Octavia 1.6 BSE

I would like to get the pin code from the ECU for the security log in for vcds.

I've seen a tool online called Vag key login, but I messaged the seller with my ECU part number and they said it won't work.

Does anyone know any obd tools I could buy that would be able to read the pin code.

My mum has a 2008 1.4 seat Ibiza so I'm hoping it would work on that too.

Thanks for any help

The only way I know of that MAY be able to obtain the PIN was I think called CAN Commander or something like that but the equipment is daft money, thousands. The way it is done officially now is completely automatic and invisible to the operator on line to Germany. The main tool is ODIS and you then have to obtain GEKO security clearance which is an arduous process involving criminal records check, passport, professional letters of reference etc and you need a genuine VAS 6154 (about £1k), denet laptop and using the service costs €10 an hour.

Maybe in barking up the wrong tree but is  the code that's required the one which VCDS automatically shows if you have an OEM cable? In other words, a non OEM cable won't show anything!

VCDS will sometimes pop up login codes if they are known when you hover over.

They do have a list of some you could try, but biggest question is why do you need access into the security? (if you are just playing around, then not something to muck about with)

Wow :o that sounds a bit excessive for what I need it for, I'm wanting to add an extra key to my car with only getting 1 key when I bought it, I know you can do it on VCDS, but looking at how tricky it is to get the pin, I'm guessing that process will probably work more for pre 2007 cars. I think a trip to the locksmiths to get the transponder chipped. I've bought a key blade from eBay that the cut and send out, and I've got a second hand vag key and synced the remote.

I'm not too sure on that one, a code keeps coming up on security access, but it doesn't seem to do anything :s

Thanks that link was handy to know, it's to sort an extra key out, but it's starting to look like it might be cheaper to just go to a locksmiths or buy a key clone machine from eBay, its just the transponder I need coding. I'm not fully clued up on VCDS still learning, so probably as far as I would go just yet lol

Sorry to jump in mate.
I too only have one key and am using a company called immotec he charges £150 for a new key and fob all programmed and cut at my home (mobile) he’s says it’s a second key and not a clone,,

also how did did sync fob to your car ??? I’ve a 2010 VRS and have purchased a new circuit board which now flashes when pressed so I’m going swap blade, transponder chip from my key into the the housing. Hopefully without breaking the chip 🤣🤣. Just wondered how you synced the fob thanks mate

£150 isn't too bad for a second key.

I ended up getting a second hand vag key and had to get a new transponder chip for it.

My plan was to do the key matching on VCDS but it's been a ball ache because I can't find a way to get the pin number for the ECU/immobilizer without spending hundreds on equipment.

I ended up buying a VVDI mini key tool from eBay I had another key I needed to do so it worked out the same price as it would do to get two chips cloned at timpsons, it's not a bad little tool thro.

Yeah it can be hard work trying to get a transponder chip out without breaking it, I'm not sure if they are superglued in, if they are I think you can dissolve super glue with nail varnish remover, not sure if it will react with the glass or not.

Sorry gents not been on for a while to to family issues 😢

I’ve opened my knackered key to swap the insides with the one I bought off AliExpress,;; but the chip that came with the new fob was a glass tube but my key when I opened was a soldered in chip so I couldn’t swap insides. So I just put old board in but at least my fob now looks nice 🤣
