Perhaps the secret for those that go to mibsolutions is dont then you'll get a radio logo update... may be. As said before Seat / Cupra currently dont get a look in with these offline files, only online.

Yes so basically where the firmware is deemed to need updating you'll get a radio logo update even if out of contract for connect services but if you dont satisfy those condition you wont get a radio logo update. If a Skoda or VW you can use the files. Seat / Cupra not since they never wrote the SE descriptor into those files of recent. You trade the money you saved by not maintaining connected services with holes in the logo radio screen and reduced functionality of not being able to send POIs to the car, turn the heating on if an EV etc. Think I'd pay up myself if I had an EV just to remotely turn the heating on and the POI functionality.

I pay for the Skoda Connect and Multimedia Connect so receive my map updates OTA every couple of months but I have never received a radio database update. It was only when I updated it myself earlier this year after having the car nearly a year (The car being three years old) that I got a more up to date list of radio logos available.

I'd also received a full firmware update (v1985) OTA at the end of last year without getting any updated radio database.

Perhaps they dont see radio logos a priority.

Seems Seat / Cupra then have the rough edge of this, not having the part number in the files if you need to do it outside OTA. As I said those without connect services contracts were getting firmware updates and radio updates over the air. Probably the firmware was pushed out as a fix why it was free. That contained the logo database update but you can't be certain that you'll always get these firmware updates if Vag decide they aren't critical where paid or not. Like for mib2 they didnt offer the latest firmware, you only got that if it was a fix for a bug. Thus if you only get those OTA and the radio update as a job lot that's problematic. Why you need the logo update file... if only they had the Seat / Cupra IDs in them. So yes Škoda has the best of both worlds on this 🙌 .

Hi,

https://www.radiodns.uk/logos

For my Columbus HU I downloaded the link above which gives you the option of 3 sizes of Logos for DAB stations. I selected the 128x128 format and downloaded the file. opened the file and I then extracted just the ones that I wanted for the number of presets that are available (15) to a file marked Logos on to the Map data Card. Whe I put that into the Multimedia unit ,it uploaded them. Using the inbuilt program for Logos I then allocated the apprpriate logo to the station. Result 15 nice square `logos showing station.

That's not going to be mib3 friendly though. The taxing one for new owners of Vag cars since 2020 kitted out with mib3 putting logo management onto their own locked down import files or OTA where missing logos exist since Phonostar their contractor doesn't have them in their database.

Mib2 you can top up via assorted methods. The issue with mib2 is where people delete them on mass and have to get them back. VAG no longer offering the database as the first step. In the UK stations come and go, logos change so without a user solid way of doing it, the tail is wagging the dog, the case with mib3. Where that web site will come in handy for anything other than mib3... plus the Phonostar extraction of their logos or using that radio net website.

The manual method going back to the horses mouth is the media.info website as in this example. I've only had to do that on 2 or 3 stations, the rest were in the car's system. If there is a new station you just look it up on the media info website logo for VW cars and add it to your USB. As VAG stopped publishing the logos their saved one on a stick, I augment with the ones I got off the media info site.

If you use the Kodi radio de app logos are sometimes useful for where the database doesn't have it in and you enter by IP and need the logo... a thousand and one uses of logos. Rasberry Pi apps as well. All of which is no good for mib3.

Eg. Mib1 / 2 method. Boot and braces:

This is where you need to tell phonostar they are missing. Top post.

Any "In The Know-ers" have any idea as to when the next radio database will be released?

Soon be approaching a year since .58 was released.

Probably best to ask Phonostar, given it's their database.

This one is sprinkled with SE in the manifest so I'm hoping it will be of use to Seat / Cupra people. I dont have mib3. Think the manifest has to link in with the model of infotainment unit fitted so a bit like those VW user POI import programs for mib2 if they dont update that list of infotainment units then it wont work. Await to hear anything. May work for some Seat / Cupra people but not for others. I see Troc people were saying it still excluded some station logos.

Yes, several Absolute variants have no logo & a few more obscure stations. The missing Absolute logos seems odd given how long they've been around.

The question is whether they are on the Phonostar app. Ok I did install the Android at on my Nvidia Shield at the time MartiniB published the file links. Searching under Absolute the station drop down box of suggestions doesnt include Absolute. May be they dont have a carrier deal so it's not on their Internet radio platform of which the Vag logos ride off the back. My theory. You'd have to test with other known missing ones....

The Troc people also say Greatest Hits Radio

https://www.trocforums.co.uk/threads/radio-station-logos.4632/

That isnt in the Internet radio station list so I reckon that is the key. A Vag design error of only supporting logos in the Phonostar operation.
