Here's how it looks. I’m only missing these (there are more but less important), all the others already had logos from before.

Unfortunately no solution for it.

Email to phonestar.

What is meant Phonostar hasn't populated the logos. I got the Phonostar TV Android app and I reckon if I searched in it I won't find them either... and you won't find them on the mib2 file either.

Reckon they don't broadcast that on their Internet service so it has no logo. The achilles heel of how Vag gets it's logos. It's not been thought out. In the UK commercial stations tend to get left out. Suspect in Germany the logos are fully populated. It's just poor QA by Vag on their contract with Phonostar.

In website i see logo, old but logo is. New logo this (7.png). I try email phonestar.

Not consistent then.... for Seat Phonostar don't construct their files for Seat although the connect services do get the updates, not via the download since the identity for Seat is missing but still has the holes in the logos. It's a shambles between Phonostar and Vag. Something about keeping your old mib2 car 😉.

There is a broadcast identity and that has to link up to the logo so in your case they haven't got that right... Power Hit Radio is too lively for me. I did actually use Phonostar internet radio when the Kodi addon Radio... app stopped working on the migration of Kodi... but another developer released radio.de... no adverts like Phonostar and you can add your own logos.. unlike Mib3:).

Was that answer ?. Hammer away at the buttons is another 😉. Once you find the screen it gives you a profile of what is installed. For the radio logo you can't better what is installed over connect services. Thus that's important.

Hi, I have a Skoda Kamiq Monte Carlo from January 2024. The radio currently has the firmware shown in the attached photos. In the various menus, I couldn't find an option that clearly tells me which station logo database is currently installed

No way: I can't figure out which version of the database is installed on the radio; moreover, I tried all the packages available on the first page, but none of them are recognized as an "update" by my radio (I used a USB-C stick formatted in FAT32, and extracted the various archives directly onto the root of the USB stick, not inside subfolders).

It could be one of the ones where the part number is missing from the file. Vag use to do that and have done that or their contractor with the radio icon files. It gets a bit technical. You have to get hold of the firmware file, check the part number list against the one in the radio icon file. You may find a missing part number. Sadly if that's the case you can't edit it in. The files are locked down by the signature. You report it Phonestar and hope they sort it out if that is it.

Hi, I currently have this firmware installed: MEN3_EU_SK370_P3355L MU1800, and I have the zip archive saved on my PC. Where can I find this "component code"? And once I find it, what should I do with it? Keep in mind that in the radio menu, I can't find the version of the radio logo database listed anywhere clearly. While exploring the secret menu, I found this info: "tunerdb_device 1.30.22", but it is very hidden.

I tried also as you say but with no result. I will try one more a different file. https://www.phonostar.de/download/vw/MQB3_LGe_Europe_v1.31.56.zip I ll try this one.

Hi, I also have a Skoda Kamiq (Montecarlo 2023), and I just updated the firmware to version 1800. Hidden in the secret menu, I found this: "tunerdb_device 1.30.22". Have you managed to update the radio logo database?

It's the main.mnf files that steer whether you can update and you can't edit these since they are locked down by encrypted signature.

An example would be this one:

{

"Created-By" : "UMC-V0.7.1",

"Manifest" : "1.0.0",

"PackageName" : "OSDB.MAIN",

"PackageType" : "main",

"Release" : "ODSB_update_R0001",

"PackageVersion" : "1.31.56",

"CustomerUpdate" : true,

"RebootAfterCU" : true,

"CheckIfNotEqual" : true,

"CheckAllUpdates" : true,

"Variant" : [

"FM3-*-*-EU-SK-*-LG",

"FM3-*-*-RW-SK-*-LG",

"FM3-*-*-W2-SK-*-LG",

"FM3-*-*-EU-VW-*-LG",

"FM3-*-*-RW-VW-*-LG",

"FM3-*-*-W2-VW-*-LG"

],

"Includes" : [

{

"PackageName" : "MIB3OI",

"PackageVersion" : "1.31.56"

}

],

"CustomerInformation" : "CUInfo"

}

The variant section

"Variant" : [

"FM3-*-*-EU-SK-*-LG",

"FM3-*-*-RW-SK-*-LG",

"FM3-*-*-W2-SK-*-LG",

"FM3-*-*-EU-VW-*-LG",

"FM3-*-*-RW-VW-*-LG",

"FM3-*-*-W2-VW-*-LG"

],

Is the bit it exams. So the unit knows which one it is. Now if phonostar has left out the identifier in the file then the read on the unit, does nothing. I pass on which file you should be using, but this has certainly come up across boards where they have left out the units ID. It was an old problem with the Mib2 POI files where VW didn't keep up with their units on their web based construction of POI files.

On Mib3 Seat, the 'SE' had been dropped, although it seems to be back in, in some of the files. That was exercising a French Seat site. SK is Skoda, VW is obvious.

In Mib2 you could find the variant that was missing by looking in the firmware file where it was declared. For Mib2 POI import there was no encryption of the signature, which is how users of POI import programs modified their code so that they could create POI import files whilst the VW web based one didn't work. It was also a weakness for introducing code into the infotainment unit, as it subsequently turned out. VAG sealed this leakage off.

So it's impossible to edit MIB3 file since they are locked down by SLA signature encryption. For example, if you see this type of thing in the file package you are locked out from any changes:

That is unless you have security service hardware. Like NSA or GCHQ. There are experts in how this works but you need the hardware to do anything.

Hello, everything is clear, thanks for the response. In the 'main.mnf' of the firmware I have installed "MEN3_EU_SK370_P3355L", I find under the 'Variant' section:

'Variant': [ 'FM3-E2---SK-MQB-PA-*'"

So, if I understand correctly, if I don't find this variant in the 'main.mnf' of the logo database update package, the update will definitely not start. I have no way of manually adding this variant to the 'main.mnf' because the file is digitally signed by the creator of the package using dedicated tools

That's correct. The * means any so you might see that broken down perhaps in the other.

That's how the mib2 standard wifi variant was found by looking in the firmware file. Commercial POI sellers for speed camera databases put it in. I had to pass that on to a guy that was producing the free software. The German post that gave the identity away got deleted since it was commercial information to the POI seller. I had a hunch of how they got it and yes, it was there. One of those secrets. They just looked in the firmware file for it.

That market has dropped away now it's all locked down.

Do you think it could be a good idea to ask PHONOSTAR if they can add my variant 'Variant': [ 'FM3-E2---SK-MQB-PA-*' to the next radio logo database they will release?

Yes.

Hello, I wrote to <email address removed> waited a long time, but today I received a response from <email address removed> that: We have considered these new logos in our next update version v1.31.58 and you can download them from 21-May-2025. I hope there will be an update from Skoda. @vegarz you helped me update, I hope there will be a new update here too 😄

Looks like the update is delayed....... Still saying latest version is v1.31.56 from November last year......

It's sad, I asked what the situation is, maybe another date is planned, because we didn't find an update today.

I say maybe be lucky to find a newer version by changing the number, I tried changing one number at a time AND: download/vw/MQB3_OI_JND_Europe_v1.31.50.zip to v1.31.51, v1.31.52 and at number 6 a new version was downloaded https://www.phonostar.de/download/vw/MQB3_OI_JND_Europe_v1.31.56.zip
Install and don't see any change, the required logos missing...

And have email: "please try again, we just released the update.

Best regards,

dein phonostar-Team"
