Yeah you need other files before the 308, if you upack the 308 file there is a file inside called manifest.xml iirc, you can open it with notepad (or notepad++) and look on which version it can be applied, like this example:

 "Manifest": "1.0.0",
 "PackageName": "MOI3_EU_SKMQB_P30800P",
 "PackageType": "main",
 "PackageVersion": "308.0.1",
 "Release": "MOI3_EU_SKMQB_P30800P",
 "MuVersion": "0308",
//
 "SupportedTrains": [
  "*_?268*",
  "*_?270*",
  "*_?272*",
  "*_?274*",
  "*_?276*",
  "*_?278*",
  "*_?300*",
  "*_?302*",
  "*_?304*",
  "*_?306*",
  "*_?308*"

the EU version of 308 can only be flashed if your current version is at least 268 on newer on on 308 itself, you have to trace back evey version but i assume that RW it's very similar if not identical as the EU.

finding older versions is difficult i know, i have the olders one for EU only because @Lennart shared them, i dont really know where to look for them, surely somewhere in the VAG flashdaten.

sorry for not being more helpfull 😞

I've had a look through the Skoda file list on VAG Flashinfo and identified these two files:

  • 5FMIB3OISW278RDW.zip 30.06.2022
  • 5FMIB3OISW278SOP1RDW.zip

But I can't find them anywhere online. I checked Erwin for a relevant TPI and the only document referring to software updates is for version SW324 and the TPI presumes the oldest version is 270 which doesn't help me stuck on 156.

To make things worse the RW 308 software file hosted on MIBSolution is corrupt.

This is really frustrating!

  • 1 month later...

Hi all, @r0bb10 and @vegarz, after a long break, I'm back and determined to finally do this update from 0156 as it has started to be more and more laggy. Progress I've had since last time is I bought a VCDS from RossTech, so I can do some other adaptations as well. Anyway, checked my OCU version and is 88, I know it was mentioned previously that its important. I quickly had a look with VCDS in Telematics 75 with the adaptations, and from the dropdown I couldn't find anything that resembles this Crash Signal menu indicated on the TPIs and in Rob's post.

Really appreciate any guidance here.

Many thanks in advance!!

@pkk11 I've recently updated my OCU from 0035 to 0143 (started with unit 5WA035284B and now 5WA035284G). I have ordered a VCDS device to update the Crash Signal as I don't know if it has been done already on my car. I will let you know if I find out how to do this adaptation. I have a feeling though if you have version 0088 already then this adaptation may already be applied.

I couldn't find anything resembling the "Crash signal" parameter either on VCDS for the OCU. Does anyone know how to go about this?

Hi,

thanks for this thread it helped me a lot!

So here is my feedback following the update of my skoda Kamiq 2021.

I had a very annoying issue when driving from time to time the digital cockpit starts rebooting so I decided to do something about it 😉

I was in software version 0156 with 00071C00 FEC already installed.

my upgrade path 0156 -> 0238 + 0268 + 0278 (~60min) -> 0308 (10min) -> 0324 (10min)

I just bought a usbc3 key, copied the files and voilà 😁

the FEC code is still activated and navigation system is doing fine.

BTW does anynone know how to get the OCU version with carscanner ?

Hi @m_symon Can you please or someone else help me ? I have the 0156 version, Im looking for someone to guide me  through this to keep everything working.

Thank you !

Yes:  Open " ECU identifiers" and select controller 75 (Emergency Call....) or all and read, .... You see the version

Anybody

Do you know of any reason why my vehicle would not be reading the USB pen for the MIB3 update?

I can't get out of 0156 version and the manufactures want £75 per hour overnight to update.

I have tried USB pen via OTG connector and SD card via type c card reader. None of them work.

I have tried putting the content onto the root of the drives with exfat and fat32 formatting.

Smallest allocation to biggest. Nothing it appearing in the engineering menu for update. No source is being read.

Do you know where I am going wrong?

Which version are you trying

To be honest, I was going with _P27800P until I sat down and actually read 5WA035284OCU143 comes first.

I hoped that would be the end of it but then I got nowhere fast with that either.

Everything I have tried always has the Data and Meta folders so they should atleast show up? No?

Hi I recently made the switch on a friend of mine's Kamiq MY20 from SW 0156 to SW 0330 (156>>> 0238+0268+0278>>>0308>>>0330) after checking OCU from ver 088 updated to 0143. Thanks to this thread, it helped me a lot! We used a 32GB USB C formatted strictly in FAT 32 and dezipped files with 7Z.

The only thing I can think of is, I didn't use 7z to extract it. That's can't be it though.

There was a tracker in it, going through the obd port. I removed it and there was a split wire. I connected it up but if faulty... That wouldnt cause this mess would it ..

Hello, I just wanted to ask if the software update to version 0330 (currently I have 0324) will cause any issues with the functionality of the coded features on the 2020 Kamiq model.

Currently, I have map data from 23.12, even though I downloaded the latest version from the Škoda server a week ago. For some reason, the update via USB stopped working. As a test, I paid for the infotainment online service about 3 days ago, but the map data still hasn't updated. That's why I'm wondering if a software update might help.

Many thanks 🙂

The current map version from the Skoda website is June 2024, supposedly only updated once a year.
I received the 330 online and so far my maps have been updated online

I have never received any software update via OTA! 😞 I know that maps updates are sent once or twice a year. I currently have the last update of maps on USB, and I also have infotainment online paid, but I still have maps 23.12 and software version 0324. According to what key do they send software updates via OTA...?

Today I got new maps database via OTA. Now I have 24.10 so paid service infotainment online does work.

There were 24.6...7....8....9....10 then there was nothing more....

There is a new software for the MIB 3, Version 0332, but it has probably not yet been delivered

Hello everyone,

I need SK RW 308 fw to update from 306, I can't use EU variant.

Does anyone have this file?

Thank you.
