I have the sw 1941 (g-tec 2021) and it keeps turning off and on again, when I turn it on it always asks me to choose the main user/profile.
I have an appointment at the garage on December 16th to see what can be done

I did update according to instructions, beside that I did it on working engine. Everything was fine, didn't get any errors. It took around 20 min.

I got Octavia iv 2021 phev, so this work on it too.

My softare is now 1941 so can i jump on this 1985?

And i live in finland.

Yes you can make the move from 1941 to 1985.

I downloaded the file and try copy it on usb-c memory card but it say some files is invalid name or too long??

I would rather wait for the OTA, if I were you, instead of trying to update it yourself. There can be some differences in hardware versions, which may (or may not) play a role if your system can support 1985. Is there no OTA for you available?

Unzip solved that invalid name problem.

No in finland we dont got OTA for this skoda.

You mean this version not suitable for finland cars?

It's an EU version so it fits. The firmware checks before updating.

Thanks.

We do get 1985 as OTA update in Finland. I already got it last week. My car is 2024 Octavia PHEV and Infotainment was in version 1969 (my dealer did that update because of bugs).

I have a dumb question. USB-C just in front of the gear knob right, where we hook up the cables for our phones?

Yes, because other two usb c are just power and for back seats

Yes, but it would depend on your current software version to whether you could update to this version right away or not...

Update:

I upgraded the software from version 1941 and all went well. I upgraded because I experienced light flickering in the instrument and infotainment panel which was super annoying. I haven't driven far but as of yet I didn't experience any flickering yet, lets hope the new software solved this issue.

I’ve had my 2022 PHEV model for just over a month. It has the following config:

Hardware: H58

Software: 1889

Display unit hardware: H47

Display unit software: 2103

Nav DB: 24.10

I’ve never updated the software on a car before. From looking through the posts, 1889 is pretty old now. Is there a recommended upgrade path from 1889?

I updated from 1896 straight to 1985, but only after seeking advice from a professional. No idea if you can do so from 1889 but hopefully someone who does know will see your post and be able to help

Hi,

I have updated from 1803 to 1941 in one go firts, and then from 1941 to 1985, everything is OK, no worries about the old versions :)

Hi. Thank you for the link to download update 1985. I updated today, it went fine and I already have version 1985. Update time about 19min. It's freezing outside so I preferred to leave the battery connected to the charger during the update. Everything is fine, we'll see how the system behaves. ver 1969 wasn't bad in 1, I only had to restart 2 times but otherwise fine. We'll see what version 1985 is like. At first glance, no changes, just the system started up faster. If anyone is interested and needs a previous update, I have the previous updates 1941 and 1969 saved on my PC. Just write it down and I won't share it anywhere.

Congrats, however, it's an urban myth that you can't update with the engine running, I did and everything went fine, countless others have too. I was told by a VAG software specialist that it was fine to do so and it is. Just for anyone else reading who thinks they may have to hook up to a charger or something similar...

Why unnecessarily let the engine run for 20 minutes when it is easier for me to connect the charger. Of course, those who do not have the opportunity to connect the charger can leave it started. For me, the charger was easier when I have a socket right next to it. And in addition, if it is -2 outside, it is gentle on the battery, which decreases its capacity, it showed only 11.9V after turning on the ignition and if I want to finish the update, I have to use the charger or start it. In the summer, I updated 1941 to 1969 and because it was warm, there was no need to start anything or use the charger when the voltage was 13V

Stáhl jsem soubor a zkusil jsem jej zkopírovat na paměťovou kartu usb-c, ale některé soubory mají neplatný název nebo jsou příliš dlouhé?

You need to format the USB drive to "exFAT". Then unzip the zip and move the two folders to the USB.

Yep that's fine for you in your situation, whereas I have no access to a power point where I park my car and don't own a charger. Whatever works best for each individual is obviously the easiest way to do it.

My comment was merely to highlight the fact that you can do it without a charger and with the engine running, as in the main post and explanation it suggests you need to have the engine switched off, which isn't true. Just for those of us like me where following the process you used would be impractical 👍🏼🙂

Just updated my first edition Octavia to 1985 no issues.  First time I’ve done it with the engine running again absolutely fine:)
