0.5-second audio dropouts with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth…

Featured Replies

I’ve just bought a new Skoda Octavia RS TSI 265.

Everything is great except for one issue with the Canton sound system I chose as an option.

When I use Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, or even just play music via Bluetooth, every 1–2 songs I get a small audio cut of about 0.5 seconds, which is honestly quite annoying.

I’ve managed to reproduce this audio drop by forcing my phone to reconnect to Bluetooth.

I’ve tested this with three different phones and got the same result.

I know it could be an issue with my MIB3 version, so I’m also attaching a screenshot of the version I have.

If anyone could give me any information, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks.

Same issue here - with exactly same SW & HW Versions as shown in your screenshot - also on a new RS 2 months of age. Everything else working like a charm, except those little audio drops every other song via Spotify. Same phone works like a charm on my old Leon 5F with Android Auto via AAWireless, so I would not see my phone as source of issues.

Good evening,

To be honest, you’ve put my mind much more at ease. It’s clear that we have to wait for a system update. I’ve talked about it with the dealership, and if I hear any news, rest assured I’ll let you know.

If you find out anything, post it here. Thanks a lot.

Thanks a lot - didn't find time to get to the dealer yet, will let you know once I have any news.

How many kilometers does your car have, just out of curiosity?

Mine has just passed his 2000km after not even 2 months of age.

Well, in one week I’ve done 700 km, and next week I’ll probably reach around 2,000

😅

Any news from your dealership, or any updates?”

By the way, happy holidays!

Hi, I'm just awaiting my vRS to arrive so having a general browse.

Out of interest, have you tried a wired connection? I have previously used after market wireless car play that tends to randomly do the same half second cut out although not as frequent as this. However, if I used a USB directly (in order to also charge as no wireless charging either) from your phone there are no issues which to me proved the after market device is the culprit.

I know it's not a fix but may help to identify root cause?

Good afternoon,

I’ve tried everything—wireless, wired… but the sound still cuts out, even on the radio and via USB. It fails in every case. I’m talking with the dealership to see if they can sort it out.

Coincidentally, this afternoon the dealership contacted me. They informed me that they have an internal notice stating that they are aware of the issue and are working on an update for the MIB/ICAS3. They will let me know when it is ready to be installed.

I will inform you when I have more details.

Cuz the RS is faster than the sound... 😱

Yes, it seems so

I've been having this issue too, I was told it would most likely be an OTA update. Could you report back when you get yours done ?

Of course, you can count on it.

Is your car the same one, with the same software version?

Does it also happen when using the radio and USB?

its the 10" Infotainment system on a 2025 1.5 150HP Octavia.

It didnt happen to me on any of the older Skodas I drove

It happens both with USB, Bluetooth and wifi. The best way to found to miminise the amount of times that it happened was to connect via usb to the phone and disable bluetooth and wifi on the infotainment system. It never went away though, it was like playing a bad CD

I dont have the canton sound system, and the few times i did listen to the radio for maybe 45mins i didnt notice it happen either

What year is the car? It doesn’t seem like the same problem; it may be similar, but not the same.

Have you tried with a data USB? Not with the phone

Yes, I have an NVME drive in an enclosure that I was using when I was trying to troubleshoot it.

I did get one or two drops but that might have been because I was listening to an hour long track, i will try tomorrow with a regular album

It happens to me less often via USB, but it still happens like it does to you. Let me know tomorrow how it goes.

Ok, so I've done three trips that were about 45mins each.. one with only USB drive connected. One with theUSB Drive and android auto via usb also, and the third drive with USB and android auto via wireless. I played the music from the usb drive each time and there was no stutters or little drops

Good evening,

It doesn’t seem to be the same error, since I also get those errors via USB. Even so, I’ll let you know when I find out something new
