Octavia Mk3 Screen Retrofit

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I am wondering whether this upgrade path is possible. I have a pre-facelift MK3 Octavia VRS with the MIB2 High glovebox unit (2 SD cards and internal SSD jukebox function). I currently have the 8" matte screen with physical buttons in the first picture, I'm wondering if the 8" glass screen in the second picture will work? Or even the 9.2 which I think is MIB 2.5? 5E0919606 is my current part and 5E0919605M is the new one. I apologise if I missed anything, thanks!😁

@pab567 I have seen your expertise on this topic, maybe you would know? My unit software is 0848, hardware is H50 and device part number is 3V0035405B, thanks!

I have swapped out my small non-carplay unit for the larger model you show above, from what I understand you also need the part that sits in the glove box, you cannot just swap the screen over.

When I did mine I bought the screen and the glovebox unit second hand but together and it was a straight swap. You also need a different USB port if you wish make use of carplay options.

@amurskoda you can switch from your screen to 5E0919605M or 5E0919605N but you can NOT to 9.2" screen 5E0919606D unless you rework your glove box unit to MIB2.5

Appreciate the responses :) I have bought the new screen and will update when it arrives

Hello everyone,

I have an Octavia RS from 2019.

The software is shown in the image.

@pab567 Can you tell me if an update or something similar is possible?
