Mk2 Escort RS 1800 Rally Car and Talbot Sunbeam Lotus Road Car!

Pure Heaven:thumbup:

Cheers,

Steve

Riding a Kawasaki 500 H1F...went like sh!t off a shovel !

and

Morris Mini Van with a 1275 lump transplant. :D

ford fiesta mk2 1.1 my first car loved it....then a mate wrapped it round a tree 1 week before my first years no claims!!!!

(with a 1.4 engine in it!!)

then bought a 2001 micra not the nicest car but did go well from the lights!!

An absolute minted mk1 fiesta 1.3

An '86 Rover 216 SE. Electric windows (didn't work), central locking (didn't work), 106 bhp EFi engine (didn't often work), fake wood dash (rarely worked), in white.... Went like the crackers when the lucas injection decided it was having a good day! Didn't pull the birds much during my rover days though........ :D

A 1965 exGPO Morris 1000 van, lovingly hand painted in council lamp post green :)

K161 ONJ Ford Escort 1.4 Excalibur. British racing green.

Full Spax Sport Kit suspension, Mondeo Si Alloys and a big stereo system! Part ex'd it for a brand new S reg Corsa SXi which put an end to my good credit history :(. Used to pay £1200 a year fully comp for insurance for the Escort.

My first car was a Hillman Avenger , took the 1.3 engine out to put the Tiger engine in , my eh hubby blew that up , put a con rod through the block.

Then we got a mk3 Capri 2.0s in stratto silver  bored out to max...Hepolite (spelling) pistons with twin 40 Dellorto`s on (that cought fire in Tesco) on the day that the major incident occured at Sheffield Wednesday ground wher alot of Liverpool supporters got killed.

My son in the back , but no fire engines about....

But all was good in the end...it was fast though

Mine was a 95'M Clio 1.4RT 3dr in the nice (and rare) metallic light blue...I'm sure some 'Max Power' teen has ruined it by now:rofl:

I had several cars through the period of being 18. Was already on my second mini, a lovely 95 mini sidewalk, with the single point injection crap they put on them still the nicest lookin mini i had.

Then me and my dad bought a 205 Rallye for hillclimbing, sounds crap but this was on of the rarest models, especially as ours was a french spec one, that had a 1.3 engine (based on the 1.4TU) and came as standard with twin webbers it was putting out 92bhp at the wheels!! Sounded awsome and went quite well, pain to drive in town cause the carbs hadnt been set up in a while and they clogged and the car would stall unless revved to the red line and then left for another 30 seconds. Felt like a right t*!t in town but laughed when the boy in the 1.0 saxo a couple of cars behind started to copy me.

Unfortunatly this met its end on its way home from havin its suspension set up when my dad hit some desil on the road and hit an oncoming xara picasso, killed the car and nearly him, luckily hes now ok.

This was also joined by an english 205 Rallye, standard 1.4 only 75 bhp ok for spares if we needed them in a hurry, but was my daily driver whist i sold the mini and looked for summat else. This met its end sat at some traffic lights on my way in to hospital one day to see my dad when a concrete waggon dedcided it didnt want to stop.

Next i managed a mini cooper sports pack quite a nice car, that covers the age of 18 for me.

Only other interest was the evo VI rally car my uncle let me play with briefly when he went testing one day that was cool.

I had a Talbot Samba as my first car:rofl: However titter ye not as it got me to Scotland and back (Aberdeen from Coventry and back) three times.

It cornered like a dustbin on wheels ;)

After that began my 10 year love affair with all things Opel inc Manta A, B, C and Monza

As im 18 years young.. i am still on first car (soon to change to fabia VRS) but its an amazing 1.1 pug 106 Look .. R reg.. racing red...

  • 2 weeks later...

At 18, Lancia Beta 1.8 ES (faster than crapi or golf gti.) Good brakes and handling and not to much tin worm! At 22 had use of Lister 7.0 litre Jaguar to take on holiday to germany and nurburg ed it 165mph.

An old blue Mini. Great car.........had some problems at times but not a big deal because you could fix most things yourself without costing a fortune.....

VW Polo, Porche 911, Ginetta G20, Skoda Furby. Had a test drive of a Micra :( , Yaris, Focus and a Seat Ibeza.

My mum mad! :D

Had a Nissan Sunny as my car though. 1.4 12v. T'was a good little motor.

I had a 89 escort rs turbo.. 2nd 1.8 conversion done by interpro... 236 bhp..

A Suzuki X7 with lots of mods.

Chris

205 XS with BIG carbs waaay too fast for a 17 yr old

1.8 Astra MK4 5dr door, Modded to hell, should never of got rid of it:(

datsun 120 Y IN 1989

Peugeot S1 106 Rallye... :)

Old man's P6 Rover 2000 - leather seats and Wilton carpet.

I was the envy of all me mates in Exeter....

I now recreate those days with my P6, albeit with a much nicer engine note ;)

Rocky Mountain Equipe, not too dissimilar to this:

bike_kanada.jpg

But without the rack, bar bag, stand and small Canadian flag... A v. nice mountain bike at the time, and unlike many other bikes I owned over my time at university, never stolen (probably 'cos it didn't look all that flash, even though it was worth over a grand...)

Couldn't drive 'til I was 22 :o
