Presumeably the PD140 has the same box, as such, that too is limited to the same extent?

Out of interest, what is the standard PD130 6-speeder rated to if anyone knows?

Allegedly its quite durable... (think it was JBS who said its related to the RS4 and good for 450lb/ft) but i know mine is coping with 340lb/ft quite well :D

As I understand there are three PD140 used in Octy mk II: (Wikipedia)

2,0-16V - 136ps/320nm - AZV - 04-08

2,0-16V - 140ps/320nm - BKD - 04-08

2,0-8V - 140ps/320nm - BMM - 07->

I suspect the latter is the single-cam...;)

But do any of you know which have DPF?

Read through the service training book about the 170 (125kW)

Main differences between 170 and 140 are from what i see

170 has

only 4 crankshaft counterweights as opposed to 8

has a balancer shaft module mounted in the oil pan beneath the crankshaft

cylinder head has been adapted for 125Kw output

water jacket has been completley re-engineered to take the higher strain

valves sit flush with the cylinder head so the valve pocket have been omitted

re-engineered head gasket incorporating rear land support and vertically profiled combustion chamber stoppers

Swirl flaps on the intake manifold

larger exhaust gas cooler

turbo has optimised travel feedback

different length and screw in thread ceramic glow plugs (not 100% sure on the this one)

Only the BKD engine has ever been used in the octavia, the 8V engine is used in the passat only.

As for DPF, only the Scout and 4x4 version of the PD140 have a DPF. the standard 2WD versions do not have a DPF.

I have a BMN engine ?

I tired to upload the service training manual about the main differences between the 140 & 170 but the file was too large. :o
