How to activate de ON/OFF center switch on the CLIMATRONIC

Featured Replies

I'd go for a used one outside and swap the button over. Much easier to do as you will be less likely to be noticed.

 :D

Ahhhhh but I've been practising with my blank button for days now, I reckon it could be done in the showroom.:P

The button below the OFF button: On my car it is used to turn on or off the parking heater. (diesel powered webasto heater)

Nice thing to have in the winter, gives me a warm car in 5 min.(effect is 5 kW) This warmer can either be programmed via Maxidot to start next day, or next Saturday or everyday if you want to, or it can be switched on as you start the car in the morning.(Otherwise it takes some time to get the diesel engine warm enough to heat the inside of the car)

If only that was a factory fit or dealer fit option over here :(

We have too much global warming for that.

Remember that next time you are scraping ice off the windscreen :P

Another On / Off botton activated today!

Thanks Turbo Boss

I parked next to VW Touran this morning - the button below the On/Off said Dual, so presumably toggles the dual zone between dual and single?

Yep, you can reactivate the dual mode on the octavia by holding down AUTO for a few seconds.

I don't think the Skoda Climatronic has the switch behind the button to activate this function

There is the switch in the place where other VW's have "Dual". I've activated that button as well but it does nothing. So, it's dead.

... you should have nicked the OFF button then ;)

So simple and yet so satisfying - the absence of such a button was pretty much the only thing bugging me - I thought I couldn't work out how to do it!

Thanks Turbo Boss - good tip.

And another tab bites the dust.

Thanks, keep these simple yet effective tips coming please!

Activated the hidden 'off' button on mine at the weekend....it really works  :D

....even the other half was impressed and she's feeling in a particularly jealous mood just now since I took delivery of the Octy!

Thanks to Turbo Boss and everyone else to contributed.

I wonder if its possible to buy the plastic buttons, so you can get the VW one with "Off" printed on it.

It's to expensive.:thumbdwn:work withouth Off" printed on it

Ooooh, just done this! Great wee mod.

Will have to demo a VW with one of these buttons one day ;)

I've joined the ranks, mod done within a few hours of having the car ;) Good stuff!

Mod done, took about two minutes. Works like a charm! :D

Thanks!

Just done the mod as well - spot on

Took me longer to find a screwdriver and blade at work than it did to do the mod!!

Did this at work a week ago on my lunch break. :)
