UK-CZ Trip 2007 Feeler

Featured Replies

Just an 'interested' list will do for now (it's a blooming long way off yet to start worrying about co drivers/passengers etc.!) but thanks for the interest Tom

No worries, to many cooks and all that! ;) I just don't want people to be put off by either not wanting to take their own car, or not wanting to take a car without passengers etc! :)

I presume that the costs are practically the same for single car occupants or drivers with passengers? Or am I missing something?

The ferry costs are only a few quid dearer for two, but I think the biggest difference is if there are two in the car then they are sharing the cost of the petrol etc.

K, I'll budget for one and any passenger will be quids into the modding fund ;)

My view is passengers should share all costs involved in getting there and back. Fuel + ferry.

:iagree:

However, travelling with a car full would be terrible... Driver + 2 passengers in an octy, 1 passenger in a Furby I think for optimum comfort. :)

Three up in the Octy wasn't too bad at all really.

 and if travelling at autobahn speeds and playing on runways a few quid towards a tyre fund as well, will probably be fair.

Loz has sort of persuaded me that I should put my name on the interested list - it depends heavily on what I said in my PM though, Steve ;)

I'd probably be up for it, Autum gives me time to save, however i think i'd be miles behind in my Octy I TDI :(.

I'd definately want secure parking mind.

If this many people go, then no offence to everyone else, but I'll be travelling on my own / with company in my car. I think convoying with 20+ Skodas would be harder than just going alone. :D

Could be the biggest airfield influx of Skodas ever.

As a marker, costs for me were:

Ferry: £50ish

Fuel: 5 tanks, £180ish

Accommodation: £80ish

Food: £15 a day

Beer: Nice and cheap from Tesco

Extras: £50 odd for show/clothes/skoda tour, etc etc

All in all, I think I spent little more than £300, which I thought was pretty good.

Pussy - We spent much on fuel alone - Each!!!

Well ok not quiet that much but IIRC we did about £500 in the car between us. :P

I'm considering skipping the driving part and flying to Prague - Mainly because I cant be arsed with such a long journey

Just have to hope I can hire a skoda at the other end

I'd be in my MK I Octy TDI so could be persuaded to co drive an Octy II instead Chris :)

Failing that I would have room for 1 passenger.

The whole idea of this is getting as many to take cars as possible, defeats the object of the trip really if your'e gonna take the wimps way out and fly there ;)

Me too

Maybe i'll utilise the CC this time, and stick to the speed limits :)*

Not a ****ing hope in hell

Goochie - the journey is actually fun!! Well, I enjoyed it anyway......but if you did fly, I'm sure you'd have no problems finding skoda to drive!! (as anyone wandering round prague with me will tell you!! - "SKODA!!" *points* pmsl!)

Maybe I ought to go with Jason, it will be cheaper lol!! Typical I go with the one who drive like a ****:rofl:

Well, maybe IF I manage to get a new car then I'd certainly be up for this

Stansted to Prague with Ryanair.....................£14 each way plus taxes...

I'll be there!

You can't fly

driving to places makes it far more enjoyable

especially if there is a group who are all on the same wavelength of lets get there and only stopping when needed.

In my Octy with a full tank of petrol and a full tank of LPG i'll be able to cover a minimum of 550miles without stopping.

That will do for me got my co-driver  .When we going then i'm ready:D .

haha! I wanna go now I wanna go now!!!!!

erm...I seem to remember being like this last time....except it's nearly a year to wait this time!! :(
