Focus ST v X5 v vRS

Featured Replies

To be honest Im in histerics here, I have met alot of the briskys at meets, and driven alot of miles with them, we all have slightly modded cars for the most part and those who know me can vouch I drive safe and legal and am a normal down to earth guy with a sain mind.

Its a story!, did it happen? made up or false? on the playstation? was it posted to be a skoda hero or simply for people whome have mods and road angels but never break the law to amuse themselves with and know what their cars can do in anger?.

Chill i am a plonker, irresponcible, I dont think, Im a lier and a plonker(all claimed) but above all In reality to you Im a person on a forum in cyberspace with a tale posted because I knew you would act this way and knowing that amuses me makes me laugh a whole lot.

PINCH Of SALT ladys.

the X5 is slow anyway ;)

Good story,

I obviously have never and will never and iam sure nobody else has never even thought of racing another car NOT.

Of course everyone does it to a degree, has anyone ever done 40 in a 30 zone yes, everyone single driver at some stage in there life has been above the limit.

And most who shun him and the act are most likely to be that driver that cant stay in the correct lanes of roundabouts and cut people up, or carry on through a 40 zone at the previous limit of 60.

What iam saying is everyone does silly irresposible thing, but sometime people atleast do it away from town centres, on on roads that are slightly safer to do these things.

Cut the guy some slack, it was on open roads with clear visibilty and in cars that are designed to do 150mph

Just about cover's it all nicely plus whats the point in buying a fast car and modding it if you aint gonna use it every now and then

Read it again lol, Was I a passenger, the driver of any of the cars or an observer in a helecopter?.

nice edit (no.. rewrite) of the original post ;)

My bold, you hit the nail on the head there, There is a time and a place for everything, of course we all do things now and then that are not in roadcraft and it may feel safe to the individual driving because its an open stretch of motorway or whatever, but is it safe to the unpredictable uninvolved people on the road?

You just have to use a bit of common sense when it comes to the where and when factors though.

You boys.......you go modding your cars and racing them on the public highways.

Shame on you.

The story was amusing regardless of whether it was true or not. We've all seen cars trying to race or blast along highways at ridiculous speeds. Whether we choose to take part in such activities is another matter.

As for the Focus ST, from many reports it cannot actually get to 60mph in under 7 seconds because of poor traction. Regardless of that it's still a capable car.

The road from the M27 at Ringwood to Bournemouth is a fine choice indeed. The M3/M27 Southampton interchange is not however!

Did any of the cars have rocket launchers in them?

I thought it was an exciting story :)

Maybe we could have a special area on Briskoda for fiction writers, that way everyone could post their little storys without fear of creating 2 pages of :nono::cop::nono: messages!

Strictly works of fiction to this area only remember!

Would it work?

Sod it, I'm going to start modding my car. What can I do to a 1.4 16v for.........hang on while I empty my pockets out.......£2.67.

Buy some Cellotape, colour it, stick it on to make some go faster stripes! :P

How much BHP will this give cos I have my doubts about this little mod. I don't want to just blow my £2.67 on anything.

 Well im not sure about any BHP benefits, make sure you stick it down properly coz the extra wind resistance could actually slow your car down. :P However, if you 'over-ran' the celotape a bit down over the front bumper, it could act as a splitter and greatly improve your downforce!
