100mph out of a Favorit

Did the wing Mirrors fold in by any chance?, and I bet you had a hard time telling AutoGlass how your windscreen ended up in your lap fully intact!

Well' date=' under pressing cicumstances (no reason at all really) my Fabia 16v was just out of the red and the clock was showing 121 mph. Once again on a private road with only a few other private road users. All very civilised!!

Then on the same private road 130 mph in fabia vRS and

100mph out of a Favorit ,

130 out of a Octavia PD 130 (wot a coincidence)

[b']and I daren't take a vRS Octavia on this 'private road' for fear of bending time and space and finding myself in a place that I don't wanna be!!![/b]

Matt

What, in court? :D

I got 115 out of my brand new Furby vRS (i.e. within the first week) without really trying, on the private runway that runs from Portsmouth to Southampton. I have to pay a lot more attention to how fast it goes, cos it's too easy to go really fast, especially with that very odd warp speed effect that you get on the Furby vRS speedo when the distance between 90 and 110 is the same as the distance beween 80 and 90.

God only knows how rapid this thing is going to be once it's run in.

What, in court? :D

Yep, or even jail, hospital or coffin.

In regards to the favorit, for anyone who dares to even think about it, the car was fine after, took quite a while (bout 10 mins of foot to the floor driving for it to gradually creep up) the passengers (all five of them kept) urging me on!!!! Very shaky and the steering was very light!

Matt

Saying that, the Felicia feels dangerously light whenever it finally gets over 90mph.

guys, where are all these private roads? i've never come across a private road you can go more than about 25mph along.

They usually have names that start with an M, an A, or sometimes a B, followed by a number... :D

Rob.

I have one in Ireland that a 1.9 Bora is much quicker on than the Vrs

The Bora has taken 1min 32 sec to cover the 1.1miles wheras the top speed I can get with the octy is c 10mph!!

A slight clue is the Bora belonged to someone called Hertz

150+ with Calibrated Speedo. Didn't have the benefit of GPS to plot it though.

Had a clock indicated 146mph the other weekend on a private stretch of road coming back from a well known Seaside Resort on the Essex coast ;)

next time your going to that well know seaside resort let me know,i'll be up for taking a drive down there.

been along time since i was last down there, getting a bit old for all that now i've hit the big 30!!!!!!

Alex

did the same in my 4x4 estate, hit approx 146 on speedo, very nearly cacked my pants though. it was raining slightly and a light wind up and aproaching a corner on a private stretch of dual carraige way.

i've had 103mph on the gps out of me felicia, 107 on the clock (pretty accurate really), completely standard 1.3lxi but i suspect a bit of a tailwind. and at 145mph on my bike on a private stretch of toll road, i got passed quite convincingly by an octy rs with a loud exhaust (i could hear it over my bike and that's loud flat out)

130 out of mine - 15mph over official limit thanks to Jabbasport. Trouble was the turbo died after boosting too much I guess, so had to kill the ignition and restart the car... whilst freewheeling at 120 odd. :D

This was on my own private road down here in Devon. *cough! oooh, tickly throat this morning. ;)

4x4 Octy, off the clock at what I guess was about 160 & well into the red in top but the M3 was in the rear view mirror

A pair of 140's is all i'm declaring :)

Both measured on GPS.

1 at Brunters....ran out of road.

T'other totally legally in Germany. Boot full of booze too :D

Might have a crack at increasing it in a few weeks ;)

130mph on the clock.

90 in the Cordoba I am afraid, driving like an old granny until I pass my 2 year probationary period . But nearly 100 in a LandRover 110 on public roads and in a 30 Limit (on blues and two's :P )

148MPH on the GPS , thats over 160 on the speedo.

In the fabia it has seen 120ish but I rarely go anywhere near that sort of speed now days.

My Pug 206 2.0HDi was clocked at 116mph with lots more to go, this was varified by the police D'oh!

hello i'm new be nice

i've had 103 (on the gps) out of my bog-standard felicia 1.3lxi, showing 110 on the clock. but i suspect a bit of a tailwind. still, not bad as it claims a top whack of 94. however i nearly cacked myself because as i changed lane at that speed the front wheels came off the groud or something and the car swerved, out of control, towards the armco. only for a split second, but havent been over 85 since that.

k3ybo

Fabia 1.4mpi 8V - top whack the speedo was showing 115-120 but flittered a bit...this was with only me in the car...no backseats or parcel shelf due to taking stuff to the tip earlier that day..and it was redlining badly..and there was a tailwind and BOY. at those speeds the car sure does bounce around a bit...little worrying. (the private road...from ely to newmarket...cough..)

forgot to add...this was at 2am...with nooo petrol in the tank at all...and me desperately trying to find one.

I did 70mph the other day on the M25, beat that if you can. :P

Nope , that's too good for my Merc 709D van , which can manage 65 mph .................on a good day :D
