140 on the speedo... reckon it was a bit less than that (137ish) in a bog standard Octy vRS..... but it would have been higher than that only for a bank of fog..... tested the brakes that night too!!!!

Other traffic got out of my way rapidly - it helped that it was a white Senator with one previous owner - Grampian Police

I noticed the same on the way back from the west country to London early this morning. 110 felt quite comfortable and well, 80 felt like I was poodling along at 40. Managed to knock 20mins of my door to door time, Welsh Border to North West London. Usually cannot get under 3 hours but did it in 2.40hrs which I did manage a few years ago in a Nissan Micra of all things. Not sure how that happened, I think I left at 3am so traffic was not a factor and had a moaning (ex) gf by my side so perhaps I can put that down to the deathwish factor at the time. Going to go for 2.35hrs next time if I can drag the missus along to hand feed me sandwiches and coffee so I don't have to stop.

I have now done an indicated 140mph in the Fabia my private road with a brown trousers time when a Merc started to pull out in front of me. The std brakes would have been more help if they were made of chocolate.
