Indicated 115 trying to keep up with a Scooby convoy on my private road to and from the meet' date=' which I think surprised some of the UK turbos ;) The computer was also indicating 45mpg too which made me laugh!

This is going to be a bonus of running at Brunters. I doubt I'll be able to get my mpg much below 40 on the entire day, so may probably start off with a half tank of fuel to keep the weight down ;) ( can always get more later. )

None of this 10mpg malarky for us oil-burners! :D

edit: I'm gonna need some serious, and I mean SERIOUS convinving to remove my rear seats (again) for weight saving - bad kharma and all that. :D

140ish chasing SWMBO on the private road to Brimingham from Manchester.

I've had 120mph in 4th on a private road, and 130 in 6th (in a full car) before I gave up (friends shouting at me to slow down) (both on the dial).

I've had top whack out of a Felicia diesel though (a mind blowing 96mph)

I didnt know the Fab VRS would go that fast in 4th

I thought about 100 was an upper limit...

It's not standard and at the time had about 150 bhp. It could have gone faster but not much. And was on the dial so was probably between 110 - 115 mph.

One thing I do know is that it all goes majorly pants if you hit the rev limiter.

My car will also hit the limiter in 4th at around 120ish (not that I've really took it up that far) - Its just that when the max speed in 5th leaves you doing 3500RPM, there's a lot more RPM to play with in 4th. (different for vRS Fabia I guess due to different gearing?)

I've seen 150 indicated on my speedo in germany on the autobahn. was still pulling though, just had to slow down because a car moved out into the outside lane.

the fastest i have gone im my vRS is 70mph

erm....

Far too much for a public road while having a "difference of opinion" with a 3 series coupe driver. Don't know who was more the moron - him for owning a 3 series, or me for allowing him to wind me up to the point of gross irresponsibility.

I do not condone or endorse any sort of speeding.I have never done it since, and wouldn't wish to unless on track.

My standard Fabia 1.9 SDI manages a steady 96.95 mph (156 kmph) on 'die autobahn' . At that moment it seems like there's a limiter that seems to kick in.

70 mph

I never speed, it's against the law.

70 is a bit quick in a 30 though Des ;)

In Belgium the speed limit is 120 kmph / 74.58 mph , in Germany it's mostly non-existant.

156 on the clock, still pulling but the driveway wasn't long enough lol

i've seen over 155 on the clock showing another 330i beemer the way forward!!!!

still had some left though, germany is calling!!!!!

been jabba'd also..........

Alex

Std Octy vRS 10,000 miles on the clock 151mph causing a renault clio sport turbo to pull over at 145mph.

The passengers face at being overaken by a Skoda!!!!

Soon to be jabba'd after 10,000 mile service!

MMMmmmm..........

Well only on a few roads it's non-existent, it's just not enforced to the same degree of persecution as here!

Actually, Italy has a pritty slack limit too. They tend to like the fast cars, esp. Italian ones do anything they like!

I always change up at about 90mph in 4th I must admit (thats about 4k rpm). Did 120mph again on a nice long straight private road with 2 passengers, overtaking a Clio. Despite having a decent turn of power, the vRS still seems to suffer a bit with a couple of passengers.

Anyway, I think I'll pack all this land speed record stuff in now for a while :P

Fabia 1.4 75BHP Auto

90mph in low range 3rd

115 in D, though after having a Air injector cleaned@ a massivley wondeful 12mpg!

70 mph

I never speed' date=' it's against the law.[/quote']

We're not talking about your speed relative to the other drivers Des...

Timed using a Race Logic VBox GPS Timing Device at Brunters...

159.8mph over 1.3 Miles from a standing start.

Indicated around 170ish on the clocks.

170 mph

I always speed' date=' it's the law.[/quote']

:D

156 on the clock, still pulling but the driveway wasn't long enough lol

Neither was the slip road :P

went off the scale in my *ahem* modified 130 sport the speedo goes up to 110 but it was round by the needle @ 0 must have been at least 120 read it and weep vrs owners!!!!!!!

Well, under pressing cicumstances (no reason at all really) my Fabia 16v was just out of the red and the clock was showing 121 mph. Once again on a private road with only a few other private road users. All very civilised!!

Then on the same private road 130 mph in fabia vRS and

100mph out of a Favorit ,

130 out of a Octavia PD 130 (wot a coincidence)

and I daren't take a vRS Octavia on this 'private road' for fear of bending time and space and finding myself in a place that I don't wanna be!!!
