Too many ins claims on the Fab vRS

Featured Replies

Indeed. Maybe he should be on YouGov plc - Understanding People filling in surveys for 50p

And Chris... if he drives a modified car then why on earth has he come on here taking pot shots at those with modified Fabias?

WOW BMW wheel inserts! :P

- I presume that was the car on its way to the scrap yard??;)

I think some people have missed the point here too. If Welshy is almost 30 and a Chartered Accountant, why is he complaining about spending

So, in summary........

Lots of people are crashing their Fabia VRS and Welshy is a **** badger.

Damn, he's gooooooood! ;) :P :D

Blimey i only nipped out to meet a mate for some dinner and this lot has happened :D

Welshy - you are a tube!

Is your life so empty you choose to spend the time hanging around an owners club forum for a make of car that you tend to hold in low regard and constantly berate (and yet are now contemplating as your mode of transport - too funny for words).

Do you initiate arguments with your neighbours on a regular basis?

Do you thrive on conflict?

Personally, I couldn't be bothered with it all...

Come on lets get the nice banter out of the way ladies.

The simple issue here is higher costs of insurance - if that is irrelevant to you then good for you for those who value money increases in costs way above inflation are just not acceptable. Do you not see the bigger picture if that is the case potential buyers will simply choose the Polo GT TDI130 or Seat Ibiza TDI130 over the vRS purely on cost basis. Remember it is only a small city car and lots have downgraded to it to save cash - so clearly if there are other options available and are cheaper why would you opt for the more expensive version?

Polo GT TDI130 or Seat Ibiza TDI130...

why would you opt for the more expensive version?

Insurance cost isn't the only variable here.

Rob.

I never even thought about the costs when I looked. I test drove the Fab and Ibiza, preferred the fab so bought it. People who do look at cost before buying will inevitably buy one of the others and fair play to them. I opted for the fab because I preferred the looks, feel, and overall car. Each to their own comes in to this I think more then, thats cheaper so I'll buy it, as once they've test drove the cars I think that will sway minds again all down to personal preferrence.

And a Polo GT TDI 130 is around

The Polo is more expensive than the Fabia 2nd hand.

The Ibiza is not but it is not as well made.

Welshy. I remember you saying you had an accident to me, and 6 points on your license? Did they suddenly dissapear within a week? I guess so.

Also, this mysterious Fiat Coupe Turbo you have, that no one's seen, heard off, and the fact you know next to nothing about it.... Might presume it's actually not true.

But being a Flanker, it's easy to make things up, then look a bit of a tit :P.

So you'd happily spend

last year my insurance company said they would re-insure due to the claim rate on the fabia vRS's but they re-quoted come renewal time and I expect them to renew this october. My insurance went down by

Mine went down by

After reading 7 pages of "im living beyond my means as i cannot afford the insurance on a car thats out of my league" you have seem to missed a fair few points on why the insurance has gone up.

Its not just car type or the amount of accidents that put up the insurance, its not just the risk level or where you live. Have you thought about the amount of fruadelent claims that get put through each year? I work for a large transport company and regularly get emails and memo's warning us of security incidents and the latest tactics of fraudsters trying to put fraudelent claims in, these claims have to be covered by something, whats that? oh yeah insurance premium.

Dont try to hard to become a chartered accountant, i think you personally are good at a similar job as a merchant banker ;)

Of course - but the point is using Bell & Admiral & elephant on all 3 the vRS was significantly more

Welshy...

You seem to be unaware of the fact that driving the Polo will make you look like a bender. I'd happily pay more and drive a VRS.

If I worried about saving money and not getting a certain car because the insurance is
