Tom, that's the search page again for me. :(

There are some more advertised here. Sort by highest price first, and a WRC will appear at the top of the list for sale at a modest

the police have told me to give it at least 72 hours before looking at a replacement. Yes maybe a tad expensive but about

i didnt realise the mods were worth that much

Sorry to hear about your predicament Jon...at least you weren't hurt/threatened.

Re: RS at Farmers....

That's Dave's (Skodaw) old RS....Jabba-ed, full Milltek (dp/cat +cat back), 18'' Kahn alloys....looked sweet.

if i do buy skodaw's car i will be out of the exhaust group buy. Hows that going anyway, how many have be done?

Manufacture of the dp/cat is starting this week and then should take around 4-6 weeks to get to Jabba.

Not to worry about the group buy......I'll try and sort something out with Jabba.

Hmmmmm

I live in Luton, too!

I'm really sorry to hear that the thieving scum visited you, Jon. I'll keep an eye open, but there doesn't seem a lot of hope.

I doubt you'll find it at the airport -they pinch cars from there, they don't dump 'em!

Phil

some people pinch 'em from airports some dump 'em.

just past experience Phil.

There was a running scam at Luton, after some lowlifes found a way to get through the car park barriers without paying. At one time, the feds were stopping any half decent car that was seen leaving the long term park. Our General Manager was stopped twice in his Impreza!

Phil

Can't believe this kind of thing happens. One of the reasons i bought my Octy VRS was that i thought it would be a quality, rapid, good car that wouldn't be attractive to thieves. It must be now be common knowledge how good they are!

Sorry to hear your grief mate. I know it is "only a car" but this kind of thing stinks.

Out of interest, if you car turned up would you want it back? I often wonder if i would or not. The thought of some stranger driving/screwing my car boils my p**s. But then again, my father had a car pinched years ago. Got it back all repaired and still has it today and its fine.

Good luck anyway.

Phil.

The longer the car is missing the less i want it back. To add insult to injury the insurance courtesy car is a corsa 1.0. there is just no way i will be able to cope with it for more that a week.

From one Jonathan to another, GUTTED!!! I used to live in Luton, and had my old Pug 405 nicked. It was found abandoned after a chase later the same day in Marsh Farm. If you can find a few mates for protection(!), you could trawl round in the Fab looking for it. The Coppers told me that at least 60-70% of nicked cars ended up there...... I am still local, so will keep an eye out for you mate.

Knicked cars probabley end up there, because the coppers won't go there.

Or have they gotten over their little phobia of having fridges dropped on them.

Spent 4 years living in Luton from 94 to 98, lived in Bury park (some think that was stupid for a white student, but I loved it and saw no hassle anywhere). Worked for Ladbrokes while studying, and most of my time was split between Marsh Farm, Lewsey Farm, and George street, but covered most of the other shops (especially if it was a bit dodgy) when other staff had had grief or been threatened. Don't know why, I'm as soft as crap, but being a bearded 15 stone 6'+ mail with (then) a massiveley long ponytail help when they wanted to intimidate.

The Farm would probably be a good place to start looking for it, at least if it is still in one piece.

Good luck on getting it back if you haven't already. I know there are some real rum buggers arround town.

this was the first thing that came to my mind as well cruise down the farm. However after lengthy disscussions with the police, they reckon this is a fairly organised gang. Basically stealing anything they can get decent money for.

jon

There are some real ******s arround (sorry if the language offends).

'Fraid all you can hope to do now is, wait for the insurance, hope they cough for the mods, and find a tidy replacement.

Gutted to hear your news Jon...I really do worry, not for the loss but the bloody inconvience of it all and of course the hours spent sitting in garages with it...umm 10year old v8 landy next I think, or a 25year old one to block the drive.

Thats gutting news mate' date='

The sad thing is cos it is a souped up VRs as well there aren't going to be many Police cars to keep with it!

[/quote']There is one trick! Depends; similar to Geoff's system I guess but perhaps different. The APR chip I have now has two tricks; one ECU disabler; even with keys it won't start. Perhaps this is bad at home owing to the buggers coming back to ask why; perhaps with fisty cuffs....

...so the second and I have to get into the habit; is that of a different ECU program; vallet mode; or in my mind easily caught by the boys in blue; basically it's a normally starting NO boost and 4k limit program. Octy is quite heavy for a 1.8 with no boost limited to 4k rpm.

People DO STEAL skodas now cos they are quick and desirable!
Umm in a word; DAM!

hmmm good point colin, need to get valet mode on mine.

Similar Colin, but not the same..

The BlackJax system WILL allow them to drive the car away, thus getting them away from the immediate area of your house, BUT...

As soon as they touch the brakes, the car will come to a controlled halt and the engine will cut out & not re-start until the correct code is entered. The alarm will sound & hazard lights will flash :)

It's highly unlikely they would get very far or go un-noticed, thus leaving them the choice of doing a runner, or being caught.

my jabbachip was declared to liverpool victoria so i doubt if that will be a prob. Just wanna get out of this corsa into another octavia, better wait a week or two tho.

jon

How long before the insurance pays out? Isn't it normally 6 weeks.

Also how do the insurance co value a modified car? - you don't want to get screwed out of all the money you spent on mods.

to cut a long story short i've found my car. Got a call from someone who drinks in my local saying some bloke knows where my car is, and do i want it back. After a few more phone calls he tells me where it is. Newport pagnall down this close. So i went found the car, rang the police. Soco are having a look at it tomorrow. Not sure if this is good news or not there didnt appear to be any damage on the exterior. Will have to see how it drives when i get it back in a day or two.

Jon

Nice to see the police found it for you.

Jon[/quote']Good news deffo! As much as I may not want a car back after it has been violated, there's a lot of love invested in my car and I'd rather have it back...
