anyone else have probs with traffice.... bloody taxis... they think they own the road.....

2069.jpg

To be fair, he has clearly spotted a fare which he is trying to beat you to, shown clearly by the indicator :D

I'll bet there aren't too many people that have seen "That Taxi" move willingly out of the way, complete with a polite flash of the indicators :D

Paul... me... Bill.. a Supra or two?

That's the point, you can't see it move out of the way, because of the smoke trail it leaves :D

Best taxi I've ever been in.

If all the rides home were like that I wouldn't mind paying the

Black Supra, Bill, the blue Jabba Ibiza, Paul and you are the ones I remember. I'll check the in-car footage to see.

Mind you, 600+ bhp, 350bhp, 350 bhp, 260 bhp, and 300+ bhp; I'm not ashamed by the Taxi. Next time I'll play with the suspension, there is way too much roll visible, need to up the bump settings (currently on position 4 out of 12) and possibly up the rebound. Won't help the lack of grunt though :( Or the driver ineptitude :( Was starting to get the hang of it towards the end. Think to self hmmm should be in 3rd for this bend, then use 4th is the idea I need to grasp. Or maybe some shift lights would help? I know what I was doing wrong (using revs instead of torque) it's just that it goes against all my previous driving experience.

Must try harder / learn faster was my big lesson from saturday, which is what is was all about for me, learning to drive this car. :D

which is what is was all about for me, learning to drive this[/i'] car. :D

Likewise, Bruntingthorpe is nice and flat with nothing to hit to explore the limits!

(looking to see if someone does a grassbox attachment for the 911 :D)

When will the spin vid be online?

its a real shame nobody videoed us clowning around on the handling track..... it seemed to amuse the easytrack guy manning it......

twas silly, much handbrake action and more tyrewear than I did all day on track!

Great fun! :D

I must try harder also, didnt have a single problem with the brake fluid, obviously not braking hard enough !

Question for all, My car seems to be going a lot better since Bruntingthorpe, is that an illusion or does thrashing it "even harder" help

Also thanks to Jon for helping me get one of the best MPG's ever driving home whilst following him. I was showing 32 till he turned off, back to the usual 26 by the time I got home

Happy to help, Stuart :D

Ian, I'll try and post it this evening.

Stuart, mine feels better today too, apart from the ominous groaning from what is either a wheel bearing, brakes binding, or a CV joint at low speeds. Most engines love a good thrashing from time to time.

the porsche is quicker too... think is the first time its really been hammered... but will needs pads and fluid.. - the light was coming on intermittantly before brunters....

HKP's Cat reckons that ours sounds better (throatier, I think was the expression), and it does feel 'sharper'. And no apparent damage, either.

Yet ... :worried:

Big thanks for letting me join in the fun.

Just melted my rear pads on the first session out and had to spend the afternoon finding and fitting new ones.. bughher.. Had to take it a little easier after that. Think I might do it again as soon as I uprate the brakes.

Had a bit of fun with that white octy (Collin's?) going through the cones on the far straight. Good laugh doing 90 through there then onto 120+ before braking.. I slowed down and let him pass after 3 - 4 laps to give chase, l wasn't too quick through the S's and has lost faith in my brakes also wanted to watch (follow) someone who was going through there a little quicker. He was takin the pi$$ with 1.4 on the back.

Also good laugh with a black vrs tweaked up a little which ran very well. He was in the same group as me (sorry bad with names!!). I overtook everyone in group C apart from this octy, he was quick. I had a chat later with him and would have gone out again if my rear pads weren't all over the discs.

Again cheers.

What were you driving, RamRod?

I was in the damson 200sx. Plenty of sideways fun around the corners.

I was with Mark (Panrix) in his black one when he overtook you during one session. You had a bit of a "moment" coming onto the pit straight later in the same lap ... would that be the one? :P

:) Yup that was me. Was when it was open pit lane. Lost the back due letting off too much when it started sliding. I should of put more throttle in. I was determined to catch Panrix after that bend and pass on the straight but alas the laws of friction wheren't with me. :D

Marshalls thought it was funny and gave me a little advice.. "Let you car cool down for 10 mins then go back out" and "Don't let your throttle completely off just a little and let the car drift back in".

Well was good experience for me. :)

Mark's car is not nicknamed Nutty for nothing - although actually it should be applied to the driver

Just wantedt to pass on my thanks to everyone at Briskoda for your hospitality. Had a great day in my Porker ( White 911 Carrera). The weather was a bit hot for my pride and joy, but it was great to be out on track with a few different cars.

Much respect to Skoda's, some really quick cars, and great drivers.

Anyway, I appreciate your hospitality and hope you all had a great day.

Another indiscretion caught on camera ;)

Not entirely true, don't recall being passed, but do recall that equally I couldn't make much in-roads on your gap back to me during one of the morning sessions. One or two Octys in the C morning and afternoon sessions had some good fun with me, you know who you were....
