Today at Bruntingthorpe

Just a quick one to echo what has been said previously. Thanks to all for the effort in organising the event.

I would also like to apologise for not putting a few more names to faces. A whinging Mrs Jimmy and overheating kids meant our stay was short lived. Note for next time is to leave them at home....

Was that you we let go through the exit barrier first Jimmy? with the Octy est with the for sale notice?

Have to admit m8 it looked very nice in black.

I also thought for one brief moment that you had actually gone too early with those stinger spikes as they werent fully down when you started roling.

Andy,

I think that must have been LesPaul in the other Black Estate. I think the FS sign was for his 16's. Anyway, Mine was tucked away under the 747 wing whilst at Brunters. We left following the Jabbasport guys.

Aaargh all these people who were there and I didn't realise. Sorry I missed both of you Jimmy and Andy.

The food was good at Brunters. Des and I particularly enjoyed barbequed clutch. Mr Ffelan was quite keen on roasted wheel nut (mmm nice) and I seem to think Panrix was a little partial to tyre wall sarny.

Excellent cattering comes as standard!!:rofl:

Jon and his 'slicks' held up quite well too.

looks like is missed one hell of a day  but maybee next time.

A big thanks to Des for organising this fantastic day !

Good to meet so many new faces, shame I can't remember most of your names, but at least you know who I am now :D

Q.

Ditto all the above from me as well :D

I had a good day, nice to see mine wasn't too slow on track. Next time I'll stiffen the suspension from its road settings and run some proper tyres to get the corner speeds up, I mean 80-90 through the chicane on the straight just wasn't enough :D

No sun burn for me, staying in the car and wearing a helmet seems to help. :D

Apologies to any passengers/fares I scared.

Top day. lets do another one (says the man who won't be using this one as a track car  ).

:D

Jon i had to laugh, your 'cab' chucks out more **** than my TX1

Steve

It's that bad? :(

Like I care! :D

Next time i'd like a spin if it's ok. Sorry i didnt get to thank you for the advice regarding the coil pack earlier in the week,

Steve

Again, a big thanks to Des for all his hard work.

I went out for the instructor laps but think I got a bit freaked out by trying to take in what he was saying and looking out for everyone trying to get past me. Maybe next time !

Still had some great passenger laps, thanks to Stimps and a certain Taxi Driver !

Apologies to any passengers/fares I scared.

:D

Not scared at all, absolutely fab - once I had worked out how to wedge myself in the seat so I wasn't flung about like a sack of spuds

Add another one to the list of well done - really enjoyed myself..

Despite only being there in a spectator role, it was good to meet up with some existing friends and put some names to faces at the trackday - maybe take the car onto the track next time!... I even managed a convoy down the M1 with another vRS who I figured might be going there.

Now think we need a Midlands meet soon!

Paul

You weren't alone Jane. I found the instructor laps both helpful and confusing. I did NOT like having no rear view mirror. Felt very helpless. Much better once out there on my own really.

A big thanks from us VX220 owners!

We were quite taken back by the sheer pace of a lot of the cars on circuit, very impressive! Also, a lot of decent driving from everyone as well.

I was surprised to find most cars were turning into the corners at similar speeds as I was (black VXT), and there was one silver Octavia that was on 3 wheels through one bend! The chicane was probably the only part of the circuit where I could see a definite speed advantage and that's mostly down to the lack of weight when quickly changing direction several times.

Anyway, it was an excellent venue, superb weather and a great day.

Cheers!

Most excellent day, great big thanks to all involved in organising it, and to everyone who turned up. It almost brought a tear to my eye to see all those Skodas lined up together. :)

Hello to everyone I met, nice to do the old 'face to name' thing.

 to the fast Furby brigade for putting plenty of other machinery in their places... ;)

The day seemed really well organised, my only suggestion would have been for the organisers to put up a board or something with the session name on when that session was going out, would have saved the 'which session is this' questions - or maybe it was just me being thick..... ;)

The day was also much enjoyed by my non Skoda owning friends, think they had their eyes opened somewhat!

I know what Nick meant about the instructor laps, seemed to spend most of them getting out of the way of the fast boys, I was much more confident after going out on my own.

Nice to meet people, hope to do something similar again in future.

Cheers

Duncan

(The one you all kept overtaking :) )

We were all surprised by the way our cars went, specially those of us on "standard" suspension :)

T'was a pleasure to have those of you with Non-Skodas, a bit of variety always helps. Hope we see you again soon

Thought that was me... ;)

I was surprised at how I seemed to be pushing the yellow VX around the track as well, especially on the corners!! The chicane at the top of the course especially I was expecting the little VX to get away from me!! Still, it was all good fun!!
