Hey all

Not had a chance to speak to James about the track day and I can't seem to find much mention of him in the 15 pages I've just read through!

Was he quick? Did his car handle well?

And most of all, can he drive as well as he thinks he can?

Josh - all I can say is I was aware James was there - he drove on track. Yes his car was pretty quick. Not outstandingly so, however. Beyond that I couldn't say. For all I know he stayed in his car all day. Nobody I know was introduced to him or spoke to him. He seemed to keep himself to himself. I'm sure if he wants to comment on the day he will do so.... James?

James introduced himself to Andre, Cpt Chaos (what *is* your name again? ;)), Des and me just before he left. Was a surprisingly young chap I have to admit :D. He had a square wheel IIRC and didn't want to damage it any further hence he left. As a driver myself (and part time del boy ;)) I didn't have much time watching what others did, so I can't really comment on that part.

Bad adverts for the Seat Leon Cupra R's - both being out of the afternoon runnings with brake problems - in my case it was molten front pads!! Shame, as I REALLY wanted to do the handling circuit in the afternoon!! Still, better pads for next time - no more Mintex for me!!

And are you sure that was a hare that was squished?? Deffo looked a lot bigger!! Kept having to swerve to avoid it!! Made me laugh though with all the roadkill puns further back in the thread!!

I was convinced it was a fox but I bow to the knowledge of the hooligan who actually dispatched it. If he says it was a hare, hare am I to argue?

Josh, I watched James whilst he was out on track. I cant comment on how his car drove because I was running in a different session, This pic sums up the day for me. Look at the grin on my brothers face.

Some pics of James in action are on www.sdimaging.co.uk click on the top event bruntingthorpe, then click A, then D53XY

Josh he overtook mine, and so he should. Mine was "better" under braking and cornering, despite the crap tyres. He more than had the legs on mine though :D Wanted to have a chat with him, but always seemed to get sidetracked by other people on my way over to him :(

Ah well, there is always next time :D

Manny can you get any more shine out of that paint work? Or did you have cone stickers put on?

Josh, Spoke to James a bit, I think the heat was getting to him...we exhanged water bottols, but alas no nos left to cool it down.

I said in another thread, James knows the corners and his car very well...no doubting that at all...sort of kept him in view (after he passed me) but he had far better lines and balls for that sort of driving than me :D

Also thanks to the guy with the standard silver Fab vRS ( who works at Npower ) Who had me as a lardy passenger for a couple of laps.. impressively nimble and felt quick enough even though he wasn't pushing it to its limits.. I NEED A TEST DRIVE!!!

Sorry can't remember your name!!..

Dazz

..twas me Dazz.. No probs for the ride. I started pushing it a bit more later on after having a ride in Graeme's Furby and realising how much more it will take.. :) You'll have to get the Octy on track next time, haven't had a ride in one yet... :)

Duncan

Hey...

Thanx for the ride....

Test drove a Fab vRS yesterday... very impressed.. but checked out a PX

on my 03 plate Octy .. frankly Insulting offer.. I will get a test drive else where as round the block is pathetic!...

Octy is still not right.. wheel bearing noise finally been picked up by Skoda Tech!.... Nut if things keep going like this I will be getting shot of my Octy and buying a black Fab vRS with Xenons...

Cheers..

Dazz

Get yourself the Furby, you know you want to.... :) Remap it, then you'll have as much, if not more pace than your Octy, and around 15mpg increase to boot!

I know what you mean about test drives, I went on a few. Gorners in Warrington were great, just gave me the keys and said off you go, had about an hour's drive!

If you could juggle the timings you could sell the Octy privately whilst you had the Furby on order.... ;) However if you get it wrong, as my mate did, you end up with no car for a month when your new one is delayed...
