Afternoon session Lee? What can I say, my fare was in a rush to catch a plane :D

Errr... I read your number plate so I did! Besides I needed fuel at lunchtime and could only get 95 ron watered down stuff.....(does that sound a good enough excuse?)

Lee

A passable excuse.

Just like the car really :D

;)

Bill, if you have deeeeeeeeeeeeep pockets and don't mind changing every 5-10k miles, Castrol SRF, about
yes i think a GT3 would have been faster than anything in the right hands...

380hp caged stiff low grippy tyres rwd sorted chassis 0-60 in 4 top speed 190+ and only 1300kg yup i reckon it would have it covered....

The stats read nice...

Lovely motors.. Not come across a GT3 yet, only GT2. :D:thumbup:

Bill' date=' you probably had more bhp per tonne than I had at 4200rpm - thats when my Turbo kicks in. With a cut off of 6800 rpm I get about 2500 revs of boost so driving the car is - er - claculated to say the least. Otherwise you are simply driving a straight six.

Also - stop drinking the brake fluids m8, its not good for you and makes your breath honk.

I was coming out of the chicane labouring in 3rd (3000rpm or so), so the next time round I dropped it down to 2nd instead, kept it in the magic 4200rpm+ range and floored it (moving right, past the last cone). The car said "Ah, nice turbo power at last" and the engine was instantly in the boost range, the back spun and the poo trac did nothing to assist me and we went round . . .weeeeeeeee.[/quote']

300ish bhp tonne approx in ibiza.

full power from 3500-7500... turbo lag is a mutha on track you must have to plan ahead some ways...... kinda old skool cossy stylee :)

Just wantedt to pass on my thanks to everyone at Briskoda for your hospitality. Had a great day in my Porker ( White 911 Carrera). The weather was a bit hot for my pride and joy' date=' but it was great to be out on track with a few different cars.

Much respect to Skoda's, some really quick cars, and great drivers.

Anyway, I appreciate your hospitality and hope you all had a great day.

Al.

1990 911 Carrera  2[/quote']

Glad to hear you enjoyed the day. :D

I was actually very suprised at how well alot of the cars went, mine included! ;)

Likewise' date=' Bruntingthorpe is nice and flat with nothing to hit to explore the limits!

[/quote']

nothing to hit except that rabbit or hare or whatever it used to be before being smeared across the track... Ewwww.

It was a hare, I swerved for it on the 1st lap - then just used the smear as a way of knowing I was on the right line coming onto the back straight

Thanks to all for organising a great day out, I certainly learnt a lot about my car and my (lack of) skills

Andy (with burnt neck!)

I've 3 comments from the track day

1) My car seems to be accelerating stronger since. A good thrashing helps ?

2) I expected the standard 4x4 brakes to give up very early but the Castrol RS fluid

really seemed to help - thanks Jon & all for the advice.

3) I didn't get to try the 4x4 off road. It rolls a lot but grips surprisingly well (ESP off)

on the track.

I didn't look at the modded Jabba 4x4 for long as my cheque book would be bouncing.
