The LED Lights Thread...

Recommended Posts

Hi!

I have just installed my LED intrior lights in my Roomster 2008.

The problem is that when I lock my car the lights are still glowing a little even if the engine is off.

Why?

Will this drain my battery or do any damage?

The ones for the rear light interior are the first one and in the middle of the fronts, the rear comfort light ones are slightly shorter

Because LED need only a fraction of the power of an incandescent filament bulb.

The circuit already has a small current running through it and the LED bulb can be partially lit by this current.

Getting a 'true' canbus bulb with a 12v resistance built in is VERY few and far between.

Even the ones that say they do, tend to always have a disclaimer that not all cars are covered, then offer a refund.

Been there and done it.

  • 1 year later...

Would someone in the know be kind enough to list the bulb requirements for all interior lights of the Fabia II please? (The requirements that would allow anyone to know which sized led replacements to get.)

I've not even picked mine up yet, but if the bulbs were here by Friday that would be convenient...

I don't understand why there's no aftermarket LED rear light units been produced for the Mk2 Fabia by now ?

There's some really nice ones for other Skodas emoticon-0143-smirk.gif

There are and you don't have to check China for it...:)

Black LEDs:

Or Standard Look Like ones:

Works out about £210.00/215.00 for the pair...

If someone's interested I'm more than happy to help with the buying these. I'm going to Poland on the 4th of October, back to England on the 8th and can bring some back with me...

Love the black LEDs

I assume that they don't interfere with the canbus on the car then?

Nope as you'll need to repalce the shole unit inc the wires:

The breakdown adn the picture is below:

Side lights: LED-LED bar

Stop lights: LED

Fog lights: Bulb

Reversing lamp: Bulb

Indicator lights: LED

These units are EU Road Approved with the E Certificate.

If someone is interested I'm more than happy to help with buying these units.

Is there any better place than fleebay?

It wasn't quite as easy as we thought and given the chance I may do it again some time, don't think we used enough heat when applying.

Still pleasing results!

I'm an 80s kid :p

I had clear lights on my silver vauxhall, looked great and on my red/black monte clear is not better. went for tinting as it is the cheaper option and if I didn't like it is easy to reverse.

Luckily, I like it so it stays. ..... for now. The front lights are smoked with the DE module so ive gone for matching at the back. ..you're not a fan then?

A lot of people use Osram Nightbreakers for their headlights.

The interior lights are a 43mm festoon bulb and 2 of the W5W bulbs for the map lights. Make sure you get the short stubby W5W bulbs or the dome won't go back on.

If you're putting better headlights in don't forget to upgrade the side lights too or they may look yellow in comparison. They are also W5W.

I will link some examples for you.
