That means you drove those 200 miles with a smile on your face! This is the way.
  2. Time for winter tyres, and back on the heavy OEM trinity wheels. Had to put 13mm spacers on the front due to bbk, and wheels still fit barely. I risked not being able to mount these original rims...but at the end it was ok with a margin of almost 1 mm! Also fitted 16mm spacers on the back. 13mm spacers: This last photo shows how close the caliper is to the inside of the rim...
  3. Is that what we’re wanting here though? I’ll preface by saying I last did this 4 years ago. But that adaptation above turns on the rear lights, numberplate lights and dash lights, no? What we’re actually wanting to do here is add a function to each rear cluster and make them daytime running lights?
  4. Donald Trump suggested you inject yourself with drain cleaner to cure COVID-19. Everything I've ever read would suggest that this would be a very bad idea and established science would also support the theory that injecting or drinking bleach is a bad idea. However I suppose it's just a theory and I've never tried it.
  5. Reformat it to FAT32 but select the option to make the cluster size 4KB instead of default - that will stop the many small files wasting so much space.
  6. Sorry, I can't find the link to where I saw the Audi fix for this. BUT it is very obvious when you remove the pipe from the exhaust, loosen the flange, remove the venturi and clean it there is a small notch, just file one on the opposite side (180 degrees) to allow the flange to fit with the outlet facing towards the engine. Should have photographed it. Found the PDF I used, see pages 9-10 Throttle body clean V3.pdf

I think it's clear that premium fuels are better generally with a higher octane rating and some other additives that help keep things clean/performing. The variance between them is less than the difference from standard 95 so I say knock yourself out and get whatever premium fuel you have available and that offers what you want.
  8. Yeah. Cross fertilisation of the Vag group forums. The Seat discovery of the standard files came from the German Skoda forum, passed it here, MartiniB found the others and I passed it to the UK Seat forum . We have our own unique issues with Seat still running with Mapcare.
  9. I've just recently started to watch his channel and enjoy the interviews. I hope he does one with Steve Sutcliffe (C Harris mentions his driving prowess) as I rate him very very highly as a talented driver. It was also refreshing to hear that Mr Harris reckons his mum was the quick 'peddler' of the family
  10. Various manuals available to download here:
  11. Never liked having the battery exposed, didn't even get the felt top cover with mine, so picked up a lid for it. Bit of a bargain at under £9 delivered on ebay and makes the engine bay look a bit less unfinished. Also changed the halogen bulbs in my rear indicators and reverse lights for Philips Ultinon LEDs after spotting a decent Amazon Warehouse deal. Not the best of pictures but sort of shows the improvement of the LEDs in the nearside lamp over the original halogens in the offside. While going through boxes in the garage also found an unused Osram W5W LED so used that to replace the bulb in the glovebox. Think that was the last halogen bulb left on the car 😆
  12. Do a hard reset thus......Press and hold your finger on the on/off symbol for a good 10 seconds. This will shut the unit down completely. Let go and after after a few seconds press it again normally to turn it on. The unit will restart.
  13. Found a couple of good deals on Amazon Warehouse Philips Ultinon Amber Intense PY21W for indicators. Philips Ultinon 6000k P21W for reverse. Both plug & play in the Superb, no canbus errors and no need for resistors. Paid £21 for the amber and £17 for the white. Not sure how these ambers compare to the more expensive Philips Extreme Vision recommended in this thread but they're certainly an improvement on the original halogens.
  14. Cool. Was mainly just highlighting there was two options available. I went with just the rear lights on their own.
  15. I have no problem with that adaption if the rear lights come on with the DRLs
  16. To clarify for OP, that's an adaptation channel change not a coding change.

Heavy right foot at the minute whilst the remap is a novelty
  18. If you mean Scandinavian DRLs, you are looking for unit 9 central electrics and change... Tagfahrlicht-Dauerfahrlicht aktiviert zusaetzlich Standlicht From: not active To: active Thats what I did for my my19
  19. Penny Malory and Jason Dawe were really good presenters. Never see them nowadays :(
  20. have seen similar report on Russian board - USB - NOK SD - OK

  22. Cheers. Looks like my 32GB stick is formatting to 28.6GB!
  23. VW will get there eventually with an EV in every class. They talk about them for long enough.

I am not certain but posts on here previously started that the edition on 19” uses a 45 profile tyre as set up more for comfort whilst the SE L and sportsline use a 40 profile. This means that you can't change those to the 45 profile as speedo is then incorrect as it under reads. There is someone on here very unhappy with his Sportline because of that?
  25. A few years ago when I was working for an automotive consultancy one of the development engineers at Ford Research Dunton expressed the opinion that he would never buy any new model in its first year as, in his opinion, new models were usually rushed to market before they had the bugs fixed.
  26. Mate of mine runs a 20 year-old VW Passat 1.8T and at 100k decided to have the fuel filter changed and asked the garage to keep the old filter for inspection. On taking the old filter apart he found hardly any debris in the element
  27. Never heard anyone changing the fuel filter. My motto don't get looking for stuff to fix if it don't need fixing, or in this case replacing. I've got the 1.2 Tsi engine, great engine so far. It's on 25k miles in 6 years so just warming up compare to yours, only a new battery and a set of tyres in that time apart from your normal servicing.👍
  28. Finally collected our SE L. Order end of June.
  29. Here it is. 5 hour drive to bring it back from scotland and very happy with it
  30. ŠKODA Superb III SE-L Style 2.0 TSI Auto Hatch, Pearlescent Black Magic.
  31. Oops, pressed the wrong button I keep hitting 'Quote' as I think the edit button used to be down there?
  32. Hi here are some service intervals if you need them Timing Belt 210000 km Brake Fluid 3 year Air Filter 90000 km Air Filter 6 years Spark Plug 60000 km Spark Plug 4 years Oil Change & Engine Filter 15000 km Oil Change & Engine Filter 1 years Interior Filter 60000 km Interior Filter 2 years
  33. Correct. Louis Phaethon Beach Hotel (the locals pronounce it Python).
  34. 310/312 either or is fine. The spec says 310 but there's a bit of wiggle room. I'm building up two assemblies (one for each side) completely from Polo GTI parts, hub bearing, knuckle, brake caliper & carrier, and everything. Looking to have all the parts needed in december, if not then january. I had a rear wheel bearing **** itself recently so i've spent a little on re-vamping the rear suspension first. Interestingly the rear discs have the brake caliper & carrier removable entirely, so it should be relatively easy to swap those out to the Polo WRC (254mm vented discs) rear brakes.
  35. You will need 310 discs (it does clarify that in the eBay listing) and the Audi A1 /S1 is 5x100. You can trust me on this one as I have them on my Fabia.
  36. Very well summed up. I think this is why I just went for the 280 L&K so I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything in spec or power (without modifying the engine) oh, I also have a thing for exhaust tailpipes, which you really do only get on the 280!. It doesn't sound as though the OP will be modifying the car anyway, but one day I will get round to blacking out my grille and chrome bumper strip but for now they break things up a bit on my L&K. Looks like there are 12 L&K Estates, 5 Sportline's and 15 SL Plus on AutoTrader currently: https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-search?sort=price-asc&postcode=sw1a1aa&radius=1500&make=SKODA&model=SUPERB&aggregatedTrim=Laurin %26 Klement&include-delivery-option=on&fuel-type=Petrol&body-type=Estate&minimum-badge-engine-size=2.0&page=2
  37. Aren't most things? loads of bulb/wiper specialist outlets on the 'interweb thing' but always check price including shipping.
  38. They say Smoking is addictive. Guilty. After smoking the fogs, I did the tail lights too. Bl00dy 'ell it was difficult to vinyl tint. I'm not happy with it, from up close the imperfections can b seen. But stand back and it looks good It's "lightly smoked", so the lights r no where near compromised at all!!
  39. Out of interest then are cornering fog lights legal? I've nearly lost count of the number of curbs I've run into when turning because I didn't see them - Let me think - Ah yes, None, but somehow the manufactures convince us we need a new super feature to differentiate the new model from the old...
  40. Tricky one.. it's one thing deciding what you want and then trying to find the right car is something else! I settled on an L&K as I found one in a fairly unusual spec and its even a Hatch which is proving to be absolutely fine for family duties!
  41. Seni successful day at Donington. Many laps were had chasing faster stuff, then i let my dad loose when i was tired. Something fuel related, pump or injectors has gone as when under load just judders. Only code is cyl2 missfire. Something else to look at over winter.
  42. Make sure you fix all the areas of water ingress properly or all your hard work will will be wasted, there should be lots of these in junk yards these days for parts, not sure that you will be able to get the value out of 300hp as even with the best original engines 130 AWX, AVF they are a cruiser not a car that handles well on the twisty stuff because of their size and nose heavy weight distribution. It looks the part, use the search function to sort out the issues, its quiet in here the last few years but there is great info in the archive.
  43. Had this a week now, I absolutely love it. 2017 190 DSG Sportline 4x4. Canton sound, power boot, and factory fitted towbar.
  44. The setting the car has for Winter Tyres does not have anything to do with the TPMS, it is to set a Speed Warning at what ever speed you want because winter tyres are fitted.
