  1. Probably priming you to be ready to spend some money with them next year or year after. I would be tempted to go elsewhere ( not main dealer) next MOT and I would say odds on it wouldnt even get mentioned?
  2. That's not necessarily an analogy that I can fully realise I seem to recall selling an F150 lightning and I think the rating on the bed was only roughly 1/2 ton! I remember thinking there were countless small Japanese pickups with significantly more load capacity than that. Mind you, they didn't have 380BHP and 450lb/ft of torxxx all going through a live axel. It was the main selling point as I seem to remember....oh, and that noise £20k got you a nearly new low mileage one in those days Sorry, exactly off-topic. Now where were we with men's bits?
  3. It's only just over an inch longer, too! Mind you it only has 2 seats and is slightly lower, which isn't the best use of space, perhaps. But boy, the mini seriously needs to go on a diet. Can you "fat shame" a car?

  5. I have been watching the development of this for a while now, it was covered on YT four years ago and there are a few videos of this now on YT and as Rooted mentioned, it supposed to be around the £60,000 price bracket.
  6. First world problems! Has the Sahara desert spread to the North East of England already?
  7. THANKS for info! my script were on vacation - previous regularity made me configure run it just in defined months - 04;05;06 and 10;11;12 as result it weren't ready for autumn release delay case
  8. At last - they've released the long awaited new version. I expect @MartiniB will post the links soon but in the meantime here's a link for the full Europe 2210 v.19 map. Enjoy! : https://navigation-maps.volkswagen.com/vw-maps/DiscoverMedia2_EU-AS_2210_V19.7z
  9. We had a few CVT equipped demo Fiestas in the early ‘90’s. It was a disconcerting experience initially, but I found it was a good system and, of course, no torque latency. I know Toyota and Honda use CVT, which are for more advanced now, in a number of their models.
  10. Hello everyone! I'm writing you from Italy, i found out this forum that seems a great place full of usefull information so i tought i should join and ask directly! My GF has a MY20 Kamiq, one of the first delivered in the country, and has an ancient 0156 software that never got updated. The dealer where we got the car is too far away and the local Skoda service is pretty bad and dont really understand what i'm asking. I wanted to update to the latest software for a lot of problems we have (mainly rearview camera during parkink, bt issues with phones, and so on) and so i found out that the one installed in the car is really old and a lot of updates were pushed.. using https://mib-helper.com/ it sais 0324 is the latest one, and on https://mibsolution.one/ i found some files to download only to realize those are all incremental updates and there is an order to apply.. Reading on the forum others were in the same situation that managed to update to newer ones, like @Lennart wrote here and i found the site russian site https://www.drive2.ru to get some but i only managed to find the most newer one and not the olders. ATM i have: MOI3_EU_SKMQB_P27600P_0276 MOI3_EU_SKMQB_P30600P_0306 MOI3_EU_SKMQB_P30800P_0308 MOI3_EU_SKMQB_P32400P_0324 Lookin at what @Lennart wrote based on the manifest extraction in the software the order should be 0156 -> 0238 -> 0268 -> 0278 -> 0306 -> 0308 -> 0324, but i cannot find anywhere 0238 and 0268, does anyone have those files? I'm gonna tag @varooom also since he was mentioned as helpfull. I would then like to share the experience if all goes smootly, i hope so! Thank for reading so far!
  11. It turned into a lovely evening last night, despite the earlier ☔️
  12. Hi Sean, sounds like it needs to be put on a lift and all the steering checked, not only the front but also the rear suspension checked aswell. Have you looked at the rear tyres for wear ?
  13. Over the years I've had various advisories which haven't been done, only for the following year it not be mentioned Examples include: In 2012 I had 2 advisories about the windscreen - never changed it & hasn't featured again 2015 - an advisory for a noisy wheel bearing, never changed it & 50k miles later still not mentioned again Don't get hung up on it. I had a similar one for brake hoses but i did change them myself. My back box was corroded on the outer skin so I just pulled away the rough looking bits. The antiroll bar links might be worth doing before the next one Also one year my car was going to fail because of the factory fitted xenons - nothing to do with alignment, the garage thought they were modified which isn't allowed. I argued & showed them the original order form & page in the manual which shows the D2S bulb, they then passed it
  14. I bought it from Amazon: 0.3m USB C to MICRO USB, OTG cable, charges Micro USB devices, angled plug, data cable, charging cable, USB 2.0 : Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo I bought the version with the 'right' handed micro plug for my Garmin DC2. If I had ordered the cable with the 'left' handed plug I could have mounted the dashcam slightly higher on the windscreen.
  15. Top of the V is 22mm from the swage line. Top edge of the S is 37mm from the edge of the boot.

  17. That sort of price has been spoken of for a good while now. Surely (Shirley) that can not be possible with Low Volume productions and quality materials. Whoever is putting in the money for the development of the vehicles and then getting production going need to be getting money back in sometime in the not too distant future. Or is this yet another manufacturer thrown millions of public money in one way or another.
  18. Try also with the engine running at the time when you sign in.
  19. Lanoguard is what the coating is called- based on what sheep have in their wool to keep them dry - not sheep fat lol- I did mine 3 years ago - it is not cheap but miles better than waxoyl which I used to use and I keep it topped up every year- takes me about ten minutes using my friendly mechanics car lift. Zero rust under my car
  20. Missing most important mention whether this 450k MS is still using original battery and motor. No attempt at SoH read out. I do hope their later videos improve in their EV knowledge base. I look forward to follow up videos with more info on the car.
  21. Mine just didn't work one day. I hadn´t noticed anything. At that point the car was 5years old, 160k km. Minor caveat, performance may have degraded and I had missed it. I had the car for less than a year at that point, so maybe there had been some degradation. At the same time, part of the beauty of having an electric opening is that I pay no attention. I often press the button from the inside or far away, and it is opened when I get to it. So maybe it was taking 2x time and I didn't notice. However, once it was fixed, it moved exactly as it did before breaking down. So I don't think you can notice. The only maintenance advice I received, to make them last longer: always use the electric system and don't lower it yourself by force or lift if faster (unless it no longer works, and then, who cares).
  22. I have no idea whatsoever, air circulation is excellent for getting rid of moisture but only if provision is made for the entry and exit of air, the heat generated from LED lights is surely less than from an incandescent bulb but more than enough to fry the semi-conductors without cooling.
  23. You read wrong, it is a cooling fan, the semi-conductors run 'kin hot and would only last a couple of minutes without the cooling fans.
  24. Remember the Guinness Book challenges when mainly students crammed themselves into red telephone boxes and Minis? I guarantee you that you would not get anywhere near as many in the new full fat Mini as the svelte original, thats how appalling the packaging and space management is, and that is just the students let alone the car 🤣 Can you get an 8' x 4' sheet of ply/OSB/whatever or a bale of hay or 20 Mexican immigrants in the back of the Tesla pick up?
  25. There was an episode of Bangers & Cash (a UK TV series about the Mathewson's classic car auction company in Yorkshire) where they had a DAF 66 with CVT up for sale. The narrator / presenter of the programme asked Derek, Dave & Paul Matthewson how the DAF 66 CVT worked & none of them could explain it properly so that the narrator was none the wiser. https://www.google.com/search?q=Mathewsons+Daf+66+episode&rlz=1C1CHBF_en-GBGB903GB928&oq=Mathewsons+Daf+66+episode&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyBggAEEUYOTIHCAEQIRigATIHCAIQIRigAdIBCjE4NzQwajBqMTWoAgCwAgA&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#vhid=3fDy2X4ZGHNIQM&vssid=videos-dfd183b3
  26. My Jag, which is a pretty wide car, or so I thought, is 'only' 2042mm inc mirrors. It's not as wide as a Mini !!!!!!!!!!!!
  27. Well, as you said, the Mini is in fact far from mini when is wider than my car, a far cry from the original.
  28. Continuously variable transmission https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Continuously_variable_transmission Hope this helps
  29. And now back to the scheduled programming.... Here is a video of the worlds cheapest Tesla, its done 450,000 miles and still has 1 years Tesla warranty left on it (assuming it's transferrable to new owner). Its good in parts and not quite so good in others, and no, I'm not going to do a breakdown of the various points raised in the video, I have other things to be getting on with to waste any more time rewatching it again to make a list of the points, but there are some impressive parts on the car.
  30. Absolutely brilliant - well done! 👍🏻
  31. Well i had no idea what this was when i spotted it. A 2020 AJS and lots of rustyness and i liked lots. (A bit of better painting or powder coating when new & before using one might be a good idea.) I was totally surprised to see they are under £3,000.
  32. Unlikely to be burnt as the dip switch gives only a small signal to the power electronics which actually switches on the lights. The dipped lights are poor compared with full beam on my CR 1.6 TDi. I too fitted better bulbs, which helps. Check the earthing as said above if the light colour is not white.
  33. Thanks for the post! thanks to this information, it was possible to upgrade the device from 0156 to 0278 (skoda scala)
  34. Right I'll start from the Very Strat mate long story as my old man is clueless.... he said it would not unlock of the key fob unlock? ONLY on HOLD DOWN BOOT Button so he was told by someone it was the BOOT LATCH anyway the latch was changed and lasted for about 6 times then STOPPED. NOW he has bought a switch that has told me it does not work NOW i know why it's of a ****ing MK2 which is half the size of the MK3 any cut. along story short it is the SWITCH that is knackered so you where right all a long. I have had nothing to do with any of it all I have done is contact people on the forums....
  35. This is all I could find sorry. Couldn’t find anything for the vrs badge
  36. 30 minutes from the South on the M77 running down & into Glasgow makes a difference if the toe is off the accelerator, and many other similar situations. None of it is complicated. It is like riding a push bike on a route where there is plenty freewheeling compared to having to be pedalling all the time. A circular route in one direction can take less energy / fuel than doing it in the other direction. Driving an EV easily shows just how much different that can be as well. Kodiaq or any vehicle if you do regular longer trips do it sometimes 'Coasting enabled' and sometimes not and see if there is a difference. Or do it for full tanks of fuel end see if you get any difference. Coasting is there if you want to have enabled and costs nothing to try, it certainly does not use more fuel. As for ACT then that is just part of the type of vehicle / engine purchased. Some can hypermile and drive economically without these features helping. CC or ACC on kind of makes any potential fuel saving redundant with 'coasting'.
  37. Here is a picture of mine:
  38. 😄 There certainly wasn't Papez's level of detail of detail in previous thread(s). I might be wrong but I have the feeling that there was a general conclusion previously that amy difference would be of no significance, but not spelled out in such a strict way as Papez has now put.
  39. 1K0413031BF is exactly the same part whatever brand you might find it in.
  40. Pure water will have the highest heat capacity, so will boil slowest for a given heat input.
  41. Brake lights are already plenty bright enough. This would blind drivers behind you, especially at night. You would also lose the fog lights for their normal function.
  42. No one can tell you for sure. But if it’s not burning oil and you like the car, drive it and continue to maintain it well.
  43. That charging experience is from I gather from other videos and other peoples comments pretty much common. There are clearly going to be some variations in this and no two days are going to be the same as chargers that were out of service will be fixed and returned to service and of course the reversal of that is also true. Where there are multiple chargers, depending on the supply from grid etc, I also have seen similar tales of woe where people were not getting the charging speeds that were expecting, that itself can seriously ruin your plans for the day, especially if it was a charging location on your route, clearly this is where locals in a given location have the advantage. There will no doubt be some who will try and claim all kinds of reasons for the poor showing in this video, but the fact of the matter is until they can get charging times down to something approaching the time it takes to fill a fuel tank and also greatly increase the number of chargers available and their availability for use is way more reliable, then EV owners will continue to struggle and so will the adoption of EVs as not everyone has the spare time on their hands to go looking for working chargers and then be prepared to sit in their cars, queuing up for their turn on a charger, most people have other things going on in their lives that make demands on their time, yes there will be some people who are more than happy to do that, but most have families, maybe they are carers and just cannot spare that time, maybe they have places to be, or are meant to be working etc. Hopefully one day things will improve.
  44. hello the saga with my skoda still hasnt been rectified .Have had a new dmf and clutch replaced and the judder was still there ,so i ended up taking it to a garage who seemed to think it was the fuel pump he took it off and sent it off to repair ,it came he put it on and suggested i put some injector cleaner through the system to help with the fault dis as he asked it was ok for a day then it started the juddering again so now its back in the garage again this time he thinks its the injectors Have heard these engines where fitted with the Siemens brand of injector so am getting a bit fed up with this car just wondering if i have bought a white elephant its cost me loads up to now its only done 108 k miles if having the injectors tested and recalibrated does not fix the problem i dont know what else to do Ive spent so much money on this car any other ideas if its not the injectors am at a loss any tips please
  45. I most sincerely hope not, not least because I lived though a previous period where people illegally fitted rear fog lights as "extra brake lights."
  46. Yes with the help of @Lennart i found everything to bring the sw to the 0324 release, here is a mega link where you can get the archives of the old cumulative versions until 0308, you can download 0324 from mibsolution.. i'm gonna write something down on how it's going the update for me when i have time to do it, for now i only updated OCU software to the latest release and did a SWM (xorifying the value) with obdeleven. oh forgot the link, ehehe.. here https://mega.nz/folder/bupmCaqA#dGb8Y30eDZ3rx95kts3E_A
