What is your favourite thing about your Kamiq?
I had not used the Panoramic roof, so I gave it a try. It rained and rained, it was interesting to watch the underside of a storm 😄😄

2022 SKODA KAMIQ START/STOP Failure on Hill Starts
My first stop start Yeti (being unfamiliar with stop start) I used to stall because the revs stayed too low to pull away safely. Increasing the revs manually solved the initial problem.

Wobbly Ride - 2010 Skoda Yeti 4x4 TDI
I had this sort of torque wobble on another make of diesel car. My trusted independent fitter suggested a look at the engine mounts; One mount with rubber coming away and the others soft all changed, what a difference! even the handling improved.

Kamiq SOS Warning- Fault code- Take to workshops-
This happened to me several times usually in the same area, a hill overlooking toward Bath. If I stopped and turned the ignition off it would go away, but I took it to my dealer in Bath. They ran diagnostics and told me there was nothing to worry about, bring it back next week. I did and they did a software update, no further troubling false alarms.

Traction control
Where was it? which model Kamiq do you have, mine is a Monte Carlo.

Anybody take up the dealer paint & upholstery protection ?
I refused it, it was added on without me being asked and any paint damage meant a complete re-application at my cost. .

I forgot to mention, I acquired some "boot nets" that hold a lot of my boot junk. These lift out in minutes, should I need the boot space, and are just as quickly restored. *Problems? Leaves settle in the scuttle area (where the wipers hide) this needs to be kept clear. Green "moss" along the window seals. No matter what I do bearing in mind that any chemicals used wind up inside the doors and may cause corrosion.

What is your favourite thing about your Kamiq?
Mine has had no odd noises that I can think of. The Lioness loves the car and can trace most noises, squeaks especially, often only need a tiny squirt or wipe of silicone polish or similar in dashboard joints..

I love the DSG gearbox, the big wheels, it handles well enough for me. The fuel economy is very satisfactory, The seats are amazingly comfortable (Monte Carlo) my only concern was the lack of boot space for tool kit , tyre inflator etc. BUT with the seats down I got 2x 290 litre bags of pruned shrubbery in the back plus a couple of rubble bags.

Car hot and fans running
I think it was around 1500rpm but it was back when the Yeti with Ad Blue first came out say 6-8years ago.

Car hot and fans running
The first regen I had, as I recall, I had arrived home and parked on the drive. The engine was revving and the heat and smell was tremendous, I thought the engine was on fire and ran the car back away from the house and shut down the engine! All was well but it finished off the regen at the local roundabout engine revving and fumes causing other cars to shun my vehicle.

Odd noise at 2000 rpm +
I had engine mounts that flexed more than they used to and in turn caused something else to rub and squeak. They were not damaged so I just sprayed some silicone plumbers spray on them and any other dubious areas . I also rubbed some on a cloth around the plastic edges of the dash and glovebox etc. where they meet the bodywork. Whatever it was I got it.

Front Wipers
The spot you indicate must be at the extreme end of your wiper blade, I fitted Bosch blades as the originals (on a new car) tore apart while on a trip to Norfolk and had no trouble since.

Best Yeti accessory or enhancement ?
The rear sill protector, almost a must have. A metal grill to protect the Air-Con radiator!!

How come this forum doesn't do meets or events anymore?
There is also the small matter of cost of living rises. Food, fuel, electrickery and gas, and in some cases the 3-4 holidays a year even these cost more😄

Preserving the coiled rubber outer cable on my Nikon SC-29 ttl unit
Thanks but this requires disassembly to slide the tubing on, I think it will end up being silicone taped. * I am now looking for a rubber preservative*

Preserving the coiled rubber outer cable on my Nikon SC-29 ttl unit
As it stands the flash is still usable and I would prefer to seal the damaged areas. To this end I have looked at rubber repair paste and silicone repair tape (self amalgamating) Unfortunately the rubber outer sheath would need to be treated to make the rubber soft and pliable again. I considered liquid silicone but this may only be delaying the inevitable, you suggestion of a replacement cable means taking a working item apart before I can even count the cores it is a bit catch 22. I will wait and see if any other suggestions are forthcoming. Thanks again for your time.

Preserving the coiled rubber outer cable on my Nikon SC-29 ttl unit
The outer rubber insulation on my Nikon SC-29 ttl unit is cracking up. A new unit is around £100, If I could get one, what can I use to make the rubber outer case more supple again? By the By, Nikon seems to be dumping Amateur cameras and equipment, I contacted Nikon Spares and they referred me to another company (Fixon?), who referred me to WEX

Nephew broke light switch - based on a ticktock
I remember one going "click" and dropping onto the car mats glowing yellow red and the car swerving as driver and passenger both reached down to try and pick it up without getting burnt! I gained several grey hairs during that incident.

Yeti Diesel Power
I think my 110ps Yeti Elegance Outdoor 2wd diesel performed very well, solo it was very quick and it pulled my Bailey Orion really well.
