  1. I drove a 600cc 2CV 30hp if I was in the way of a more powerful truck (provided it was safe to do so) I would move out and let him by then quickly get behind and slipstream him (this is an unsafe maneuver)
  2. As you get older you point the boot to the prevailing wind and the engine to the sunshine, automatically, can be applied to people as well! 😀
  3. Park facing the sunshine (on a day with sunshine forecast) 😀
  4. gumdrop replied to Simon D's topic in Skoda Yeti
When you say Headlights do you mean Mainbeam or Dipped Beam? When it is dark(ish) my lights come on, usually with a message "Turn Your Lights On" referring to the light switch.
  5. Many men carry their wallet in the back pocket, then blame the seat! The seat squab nose is another nasty area as it reduces bloodflow to your legs and feet and may even affect the return flow to heart and brain. Just an aside, Target shooters used to put their wallet under their shooting armpit to slow the pulse and help keep the weapon steady. Look at really expensive car seat front edges they are well designed.
  6. I had a lot of back pain and was being treated by a chiropracter, there was no relief so he finally X-rayed my back, my lower back was shot I had three discs worn to a wedge and ended up with an eight hour operation. If you have back pain see your GP and ask for an x-ray, I spent years with back pain and doing nothing just made it worse! One thing I learned was not to drive with a Wallet in your back pocket, this can affect your sciatic nerve.
  7. I use USB 'C' to usb 3 adapter Right angle cables around 6" (150 mm) long, Amazon
  8. I use usb-3 memory sticks 32k or 64k formatted fat-3 and these run fine. I download music videos from you-tube using this app. https://ytmp3free.cc/en/
  9. Thank you both, I rather liked the swivelling cornering lights, but the fixed extra corner lights might be useful for carpark manouvers.
  10. A rule of thumb for wading a vehicle used to be, No Deeper than your wheel hub centre but some say sill height. https://drivingfast.net/driving-in-deep-water/
  11. I think it actually accepted the whole long wheelbase Land Rover in one swallow 🤣
  12. My brother in law drove through water across a road known well to him. What he didn't know was erosion had dropped the road surface a few feet.
  13. As above, leaves in the wiper trough I park near a hazel shrub and have to clear leaves out before every run. PS I even had a squirrel stocking up nuts in the trough once.
  14. Only ever had heated seats on Yetii but they always heated up quickly. I was alwaysdoing a bigger milage then so the battery was always well up.
  15. My Monte is a little older so could you explain cornering light, please My Yetis (or the first one anyway had moving lamps for cornering.
  16. I had and enjoyed Fiestas for years my top car was a 1.6 diesel Ghia beautiful car!
  17. I could not find my tool so I phoned the dealer who said it is there in with the jack etc. in the polystyrene block . Sure enough it was there just difficult to see. I bought a couple more from E-Bay. DO NOT let tyre fitters have them, they always "Forget" to give them back.
  18. I had the bang and sudden stop when exiting a suprmarket car park to turn right onto the main road. As I pulled forward a car pulled up to a postbox almost directly opposite and stopped, detected as a threat the brakes came on. There was no moving traffic, the road area was about four cars wide.
  19. Is the WHICH speed checker still operational.
  20. I was thinking (more lucidly now the squirrels have been exorcised) somebody else had a similar problem with something rolling about in the air ducts, possibly the duct that runs along the top of the floor tunnel.
  21. My car is next to a hazel and squirrels sometimes hide single nuts in the scuttle under the wipers these roll around , for a short time. A pencil by its very length needs a lot of room to roll back and forth, what do you have in the glove box?
  22. I have driven automatics before as part of my work, I have the dry DSG Monte Carlo 1.5 and I am smugly pleased with it. Smooth and almost as quick as a manual box.
  23. I remember "ploughing " the M4 at night and my passengers telling me "blue lights" these were the first high intensity lights and even dipped they appeared to dazzle, I just averted my gaze a litte and that was all it needed. Technology is wonderful but as has already been said humans can often be better, especially when they are well informed as to what Matrix capabilities are and what its shortcomings are so they can make allowances. My favourite mod was in the Citroens and on my Yeti, the cornering lights!
