Which part of "space saver" is confusing you? They are called that exactly because they are smaller diameter and narrower than the road wheels and tyres fitted to the car. It's also normally recommended (or required by law) that you keep usage to under 50 miles at no more than 50mph with one fitted. You may well find that your standard wheel/tyre combination will actually fit into the well in the boot anyway. Oh and if you want a proper spare rather than a can of gunk, don't forget you'll need a jack, a wheelbrace and possibly a locknut key to get the punctured wheel off the car and the spare on.

Yes, not least because the engine temperature sensor controls the cold start enrichment on an injection engine. This sounds like the mixture is overenriched on a cold start, but not quite to the point of soaking the spark plugs and preventing any actual spark.

It's a diesel. It may need an oil change, so if it's close to one I'd do that first. Otherwise it may have a slightly sticky tappet.

You do, or at least are in a position to find out. Look for the options label (several square inches paper sticky label) under the boot carpet.

Where do I say that it does? All I say is that the hydraulic actuation has, for a driver who's wallet is attached to the clutch mechanism, the advantage of acting as an automatic slack adjuster.

Which engine? I know about diesels but not petrols.

That would require my car to have done 60_000 miles with no clutch wear. It also argues that the claimed advantage of a hydraulic clutch being self-adjusting does not exist.

That (as a ratio) is about typical of my experience of VAG trip computers. So they're more useful as tools for monitoring to spot developing problems than for working out running costs. Not telling you what to do, but if you have somewhere to store them, removing the row 3 seats should save about 60kg.

They're an importer's call centre, not a manufacturer's engineering department. What I make of your post is that you have an unrealistic expectation of call centre staff. Oh and BTW VAG have been using plastic water pump impellers since the late 1990s.

Do you have an ambient temperature display (either in the heater controls or the trip computer)? If so, does it always display a reasonable temperature? If it's displaying consistently low, it'll rack up the heat because of the difference between the ambient and demand values.

Er, master cylinder -> hydraulic clutch. Being able to consistently run a fairly high biting point without risking clutch slip is one advantage of a hydraulic clutch.

Maybe; I once had a display of warning lights like the Blackpool illuminations, with associated fault codes, and the base cause was the sprague clutch on the alternator sticking open.

I 'ave bad nose! The front you're stuck under is stalled out by an anticyclone centred in the Netherlands, and is going pretty much nowhere today. Better news is that it should break down overnight as the said anticyclone crosses the North Sea into Englandshire.
