  1. Does the battery light work correctly when the ignition is first switched on but the engine is not started?
  2. Well, this message is written on a machine old enough to have Windoze 7 as the native OS.
  3. Hard pass on any electronic synthesised exhaust that isn't a 917K.
  4. Open/remove the spindle cover. Loosen the retaining nut one or two turns. Stand the arm up and use it as a lever to break the taper lock on the spindle. Remove the nut and then the arm. Replacement is the reverse of removal, with the note that you should align the arm before fitting the nut.
  5. Further to the above comments, I've known EFB and AGM batteries fail at as little as 3 years from new.
  6. Remember the bit where the old battery was disconnected?
  7. @wyx087 Some of us said this would happen, if not in the next tax year from today, years ago.
  8. Erwin; ok, it's 7 euro plus a CD or USB stick and an hour of your time, but that's for all the manuals for the Fabia mk2.
  9. Yes, and I sometimes prefer hard copy for a variety of reasons, including being able to write my own additional notes onto/into the document. What I am having difficulty with is understanding properly what the issue with producing hard copy is, so going back to first principles, what is the file extension on the initial document? What other file extensions can you produce from "file->print" and "file->save as" dialogues?
  10. Diesels don't have spark plugs. If you have a reasonably local Bosch Diesel or Turner Tune, ask them about glow plugs for your car, and expect them to ask for the engine code or chassis number.
  11. Yeah, that's convincing.
  12. I think the closest you'll come is a DSG, which is more like an automated manual than an olde skool slushbox.
  13. As long as battery has charge, and the oil about the refill mark just start it up and let it idle for 5 minutes to get the oil and water flowing again.
  14. @Pipe84 - As @Breezy_Pete says, except that I suspect you may also have a central locking wire in the driver's door bellows broken. Either way I'm fairly sure he'd agree to continuity check each of those wires.
  15. I'm not saying the lack of HT was the coil, but the old blue coil certainly wasn't helping (it was the coil ) If by "lash" you mean the tappet clearance, then I'd do that first if it can be done cold, but if it needs doing hot I'd do the cam belt and cam timing first.
  16. Agreed. If you left-click on the ellipsis "..." icon at the top right of a post you get options to report or share it. Under Report, you get further radio button options including one for "Wrong Forum".
  17. That's odd; that works for anything I've actually tried it on except Acrobat formats. Still Acrobat Reader is a free download.
  18. Aye mon; ye need recommendations for independent specialists?
  19. I've never seen steam like that from an Octavia or indeed a Superb. Also, I take it you'd no issues with linking your video once you knew to do it?
  20. Step for a hint; what colour's your car?
  21. Oh the wee Kirkcudbright hexapede...
  22. When is this guy appearing on CBBC, and which children's story will he be reading?
  23. @dcd Further to @nta16 comment. I agree about including engine/trans data in your profile (two 3 or 4 letter codes). He's done a good job of how to edit your profile.
  24. And that makes me wonder what the dwell angle is; it would be unusual to have that big a range.
