  1. The title probably won't mean anything to anyone except the current keeper, if the car even still exists.
  2. Apec Automotive is a parts manufacturer from Filton in Bristol. I'd never heard of them but found their website using a Google search.
  3. @Titanium_Man Beta blockers are normally used for treating high blood pressure, although they may also be used in treating other heart conditions.
  4. Don't pay a low mileage premium price, and make sure it's been serviced on age, not mileage.
  5. Which would probably account for why the 8 speed (9 with off) thyristor circuit on the climate control models is long-lived.
  6. WTF do you need a resistor for "off"!?
  7. As others, this is because the 2 fan resistors that provide the slower settings have both blown.
  8. Well, clearly the Park pawl isn't locking the transmission properly. Why this is is a question for an automatic transmission specialist, not a Skoda main stealer. Other than that, there's an issue of technique; why are you putting the transmission into Park before you apply the handbrake?
  9. The circuit is the grey area between the 2 white lines. It is not red and white stripes or green stuff, even if your name is Max Verstappen.
  10. Well, at least it's cheap (as in free) yes? The other issue I've had is the outer sheaths (should be fixed length) on handbrake cables collapsing, and allowing way too much free play before the wheel brake comes on.
  11. It's usually called "idle stabilisation control" if it gets a name at all. Basically, what happens is that the engine ECU gives it just enough fuel to keep it running.
  12. I usually read "right size sockets, wobble bar and 15deg ratchet" when I see this,
  13. TFM does not say which are the better brands of higher output bulbs. RTFQ first.
  14. Big clue as to how you put the latching Airbag Fault light on. You need a proper code reader to clear it again.
  15. Your reasoning is well found. Personal account. A mate of mine had a (then new) Ford Sierra RS4x4 (V6) with a similar intake position. He hit a sheet of standing water maybe 2" (say 5cm) deep, and didn't just hydrolock the engine but put 2 con rods through the block!
  16. Quite possibly. My sister's car has "auto lights", and is quite capable of turning them on when going through a railway bridge and then leaving them on for the rest of the trip even though the light level only dipped briefly under the bridge.
  17. Out of round tyre creating a resonance at the wear bar on the flattest point (I've actually seen this happen, pre-camera phone). Alternatively, parts cannon has not been loaded with the right parts yet.

Simples; the code for your car stereo head is held by your car's BCM and no other. The radio simply won't work without recoding if it is put into, say, my car.
  19. @Welshyetiman - No, because selling my Yeti without my permission is taking without owner's consent, followed by reset.
  20. @Golf-Fiend Brand new gas struts will always be "stronger" than 18 year old ones the same new spec.
  21. KenONeill replied to LetsGo's topic in Škoda Citigo
@AGFalco said No. Dead wrong; the radio is coded, but the code is normally held in the body convenience module and input automatically when the ignition is turned on following a battery disconnection.
  22. Sipes (not a typo) do not always extend the full depth of the tread.
  23. Yes it does; it has no transverse sipes by design but does have a circumferential groove.
  24. KenONeill replied to LetsGo's topic in Škoda Citigo
Normal ones, unless you have Stop/Start (not stated), when you need AGM and to code the new battery into the car. Yes.
  25. OTOH indirect TPMS (which is what you have) works on tyre pressure differentials between the tyres. If you drop (or raise) all 4 tyres by the same pressure it won't know.
