  1. The usual suspect is the wiring in the door bellows, assuming you mean the front door speakers and not the tweeters in the upper fascia.
  2. @Andyroberts I may not be looking at what you're meaning to point at but the whitish thing is a tie-wrap.
  3. @Norton Ian Ah yes, I also don't use Skoda main stealers.
  4. It's not critical, unless they are stretch bolts for some reason.
  5. I've never done this, but have fitted aftermarket seats. You need custom subframes that bolt to your floor and your chosen seats.
  6. I think the in-sewer-ants will say it has a bent shell.
  7. Have you considered the old fashioned method of looking out of the windscreen?
  8. I make that 4.3kW assuming a nominal 12v.
  9. I'd be guessing if I said $cause, but I'd start by checking the battery and the alternator output.
  10. A formal recall will be by a letter, and be for a safety related matter (for example an issue with the airbag system). A service campaign will be non-safety works which may be carried out during a routine service (eg the diesel engine "fixes")
  11. 2 chances; fat chance and no chance. And, at 54k I'd even agree with them.
  12. I've never paid that for front discs and pads (280mm and FSIII).
  13. I don't positively know this, but I think you may have found the very earliest stages of a blow in the head gasket.
  14. It's also well known (at least in the circles I move in) that Conti's have a harder substrait from about 3mm (German wear limit) on down.
  15. Not sure how to check for that, what would I be looking for? As described, or you have a voltage across the battery terminals that's about 10 to 11v.
  16. Problems, first world problems - I have never supported vermilion male bovine, but would support Porsche.
  17. Also @StuartMR - Usually known as a dead short or a dead cell. Also, when you're charging the battery, is there and sign that one cell is gassing (looks like it's boiling)?
  18. Is there a "clunk" sound when you key the starter?
  19. Me neither, for similar reasons (with the note that I'd rate product knowledge and aftersale care way above "plush armchairs and carpets".
  20. Also @Adam12 - He's changed his user tag to @Breezy_Pete . He'll now get a notification of this thread.
  21. Also @Adam12 That's the sort of way I was thinking above; the low alternator output causes a "graceful degradation" of as many car systems as possible before actually stopping the car.
  22. There's no such thing; the car has McPherson strut front suspension.
  23. This makes absolutely no sense.
  24. As @Warrior193 said. You might (not will, might) also get your ICE and/or ventilation fan shutting off and/or your headlights dimming at the same time, and for similar reasons. Has a garage ever investigated the fault codes (expect lots) or just used the parts cannon on the car?
