  1. @JayLibove - This is why I normally call the feature "Lane Enforce"; it tries to make up its own mind when you need it to activate, and responds to things like shadows, vehicles approaching on curves, and even things like blowing crisp packets. @roottoot - Given the OP's tale, I can't believe you've ever done something like, say, trying to drive over the Queensferry Crossing on a sunny day, or if you have that you think the system is vaguely defensible. @Ecomatt - Agreed.
  2. The fatness of their wallets is directly proportional to the number of oil changes they get you to pay for.
  3. At which point a PHEV ceases to be as economical as a plain diesel vehicle with the same engine and tyres.
  4. Even if it can do, would you actually trust VAG electronics to do this?
  5. I missed that sorry. You're stuck with finding the stamped on engine number or hoping the V5 is correct then.
  6. Sounds like the main stealer broke it, so they should fix it at their expense.
  7. Aka snake oil; enough said? Anyway, a glow plug issue is more likely electrical, in the control box or the temperature sensor. I can say this much but you need diagnostics to go much further.
  8. Only if explicitly asked. Also the clutch and brakes share a common fluid reservoir.
  9. Use the full options sticker normally found on the boot floor.
  10. Well, you are in scope for a fixed interval service then because of the duration rule. I think an independent specialist will do the cambelt and water pump for more like £400 than the quote you have from a main stealer.
  11. It is now August 08th; Services tend to be every N miles or M months, whichever is sooner. As you haven't stated the date for the pending service it could well be in scope by the date BSS will take the car in.
  12. Also @Boabster I'd agree; also, I think that the issue is with the friend, not with WES.
  13. That sounds a lot like anti-stall.
  14. That depends; is the rear suspension some form of multi-link, double wishbone, strut, or torsion beam? Work this out for your car, and then maybe think about rear toe angle.
  15. Quality beading shot.
  16. OK, that I'll give you but your own photo clearly shows top and bottom swivel points, not kingpins!
  17. Ah got it; try searching for "tool factor" and "obstruction spanner" as terms.
  18. Trust me; this is an improvement unless you're just a wheel holder.
  19. @Carlston Write out 1_000 times "Ken means exactly what he says. Do not correct him by typing a possible meaning of what he said".
  20. Well, the alloys should cool the tyres and brakes better, leading to longer tyre and brake life. They may or may not also be lighter, leading to better acceleration, braking and fuel economy.
  21. It would seem that I may owe Hawco Inverness an apology.
  22. Rear cluster earths, front sidelight earths, dodgy brakelight bulb if 5/21W
