I think this belong here. So, no matter if it's Stock or with ECU chip, if has stock exhaust or custom, if has factory air filter or cotton gauze or POD, if it's outside the cool air or down in a 5th floor basement etc the warm-up time (from crank and 1100 prm to 800 rpm idle) for Skoda (with VW electronics) Felicia has a 3:40-3:50 minutes as ''standard''. Why? I don't know any more. Can this time reduced or if it's proper to be reduced? I don't know either and as i have seen in forums probably no one knows.

''Chart-o-mania'' or ''Give Chart to the people''. I have lost the account from oil viscosity charts, anyone publises anything he wants about engine oils. Take a look 2 examples, look the 5W-40.

Those 2 are for Felicia. VW 500 00: Volkswagen specification for multigrade mengine oils for petrol engines with SAE 5W-X/10W-X viscosity. This is an "old" oil specification and is applicable to engines built before model year 2000 (up to August 1999). I wonder: those 2 different Felicia owners must use the same engine oil? It's not a kit-car, not a racing team and the owner is the co-driver. It's stock in -18 'C

Do you beleive the Skoda chart that the 10W-40 is only for 15 °C ambient only? If that was true all the Skoda felicia in Mediterranean area would be blown. Very useful. Keep in mind that Castrol here in Greece has the worst name because many e-shops sell counterfeit Castrol semi-synthetic oils. When we see cheap Castrol we say it's ''monkey'', there are videos how to spot a fake one. As for the ''we buy engine oil from one compnay and we add additives and sell it with different brand name'' it's common here with Gasoline. Some companies buy from here https://www.helpe.gr/the-group/products-and-services ,then add their own additives and sell it in gas station with their own brand name. Also the 95 octane becomes 98 or 100 or Racing accordning to the ''recipe'' of each company, the basic 95 octane gasoline is the same for all of them.

What's the difference between those 2 charts? Green (Owners' manual) and Grey (Workshop manual, so called the ''latest"). There is no ''update''. On the other hand, Skoda at 1998 told us about Halogen bulbs, didn't knew that some years after we could install HID and LED bulbs with much better performance in the same front light (which was designed for Halogen bulbs).

The Skoda chart with green colour in the owners manual is the same with the grey colour (the 'latest" from German), does not offers the same informations like this:

I wonder a 5W-40 engine of 1998 era is the same with one from 2022-23? For example who knew ENEOS oils in year 1998?

Many years back the repairs shops here promoted the Valvoline for Skoda. Later some of them start ''pushing'' Aral for engine oils-coolant ''because it's from Germany" (trying to tie VW Germany,Skoda-German product). I have tested 2 Motul and Amsoil Synthetic oils. Unfortunately no Morris Multivis in Greek e-stores. Skoda / VW Group Engine Oils

I tried a synthetic oil 10W-40 and i saw that I didn't have good results in turning at high revs, i was nervous because i was forcing the car, i was burning more fuel, i had a bit of higher coolant temperature. Why? I don't know. Amsoil was not available in that country-town so i decided to do a temporary test on 5W-40 and so far i have only seen positive results. So where's the weird thing of saying my impressions in a Skoda forum where other members can post their opinions? Where is the problem anyway; I didn't tell you to remove the injection system and go back to the carburetor. Bee Gees: Stayin' Alive.

How look that they have the same behaviour in the same 'C scale?

In Skoda manual i see no 10W-40 although in the Greek version has it.

Next time i will give a try to Synthetics as ENEOS Premium 10W40 or Shell Helix HX7 10W-40 ENEOS Super Plus 15W-40 and i don't know if Mobil 1 FS X1 5W-50 is good for my engine.

An Amsoil 10W-40 Synthetic can do this? I can not do an oil change now, i can't pay 70 euros at the moment, i will in the future but till then i drive my car normally in a city.

Skoda recommended Semi-Synthetic and not Mineral. Also in manual said for coolant to use G11 for Felicia, in an older topic i remember that the other guy suggest to another Felicia driver to use G12. That wasn't a "split hair" case? Amsoil has a 5W-40 European formula oil but unfortunately not 10W-40. Have you or a friend of yours ever use in an old classic car a Synthetic oil?
