@augusto73roma you have to patch swdownload from toolbox and then start installation of 0480 firmware. It will break with some error messages - you have to modify metainfo2.txt (change "RequiredVersion..." lines from any version it has to "0").

It's never Plug&Play. New unit must be reworked - patch must be applied for Component Protection and activations, unit must have coding and adaptations adjusted to match car's equipment.

Yes, remote rework for single SD units is not possible. Another yes - swapping single sd card MIB2 unit in the glove box for a double SD card MIB2 unit means you could use a sd card patch to activate it. No need for the display unit to be changed.

@EvilBono you must have SMS soldering skills, QNX knowledge and either UART or EMMC-SPI. This will allow you to load MIB STD2 Toolbox into your unit that you can later use to activate new features like SmartLink and othe FEC/SWaP activated features.

Forget Chinese Android units, you need Bolero 5Q0035842x / 565035842 or Amundsen 5Q0035874x / 565035874. New unit must be patched first.

@robinio you have Amundsen MIB1, with Bluetooth, with DAB, part number 5E0035874A, with USB 5Q0035726B and fortunately you don't have CANTON sound system. To use display you bought (5E0919605M) you also have to replace glove box unit, either with MIB2 Bolero, Amundsen or Columbus. If you do not need video playback from SD, DVD and USB then I suggest Amundsen as with Bolero NAV button will not work. If you would like to use Apple CarPlay then you also have to replace USB port. All units support SmartLink (Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, MirrorLink), rear view camera, voice command. features that differ them: - MIB2 Bolero - no OEM navigation, no CD/DVD drive, no video playback from SD/USB - MIB2 Amundsen - OEM navigation, no CD/DVD drive, no video playback from SD/USB, support for displaying OEM maps in Active Info Display (Virtual Cluster) - MIB2 Columbus - OEM navigation, CD/DVD drive, video playback from SD/USB, no support for displaying OEM maps in Active Info Display (Virtual Cluster) If you are interested in P&P version pls contact me in PM.
