Have you found the options setting and set it for do not auto lock? If you can't open the windows that is not normal. Suggest you get it scanned for fault codes. I've never tried holding the car with just the handbrake, but maybe it just needs adjusting if this is something you want to achieve. There have been instances of the handbrake releasing itself after owners have left & locked the car.- Highest mileage

It failed the MOT in August. After contacting the police, has the OP been given a new MOT or a covering letter to say it's ok for another 6 months? Would an MOT check say pass or fail ?- Charge cooler
Sorry to go on about this, but what made you contact the police and DVLA when we all assume a fail is a fail? If it fails again in February for emissions would you contact the police again? Is there more leeway on the MOT for taxis?- Charge cooler
