  1. @smecscan you make a recording of the sound?
  2. Be careful if they're one directional tyres.
  3. There is a breather pipe somewhere. Maybe that's got blocked.
  4. Auto is for ease of driving. Why would you want to keep shifting from D to N and back to D all the time? I use stop start all the time, so at least I'm doing a little bit to help pollution levels.
  5. Were both oils changed?
  6. The Octavia setup is exaxctly the same. If only all maintenance jobs were this easy. I soaked mine in vinegar for a few days and then blew and sucked a few times and it cleared the nozzle.
  7. What engine do you have?
  8. Get the battery and alternator checked out first. What engine do you have?
  9. You may find a solution above.
  10. Using the (supposedly) failure of the SS as a guide to the health of the battery is a non starter. As @ApertureS says there are many reasons for it not to work, Mine can work after a few minutes driving, then a few miles later into the journey it may stop working. It usually works consistently after about an hour. I don't give myself even more grey hairs worrying about it. This is with an almost 11 yr old AGM battery and SS has always been activated.
  11. Did you code the battery?
  12. If it was, it went right over my head 😀
  13. Get the battery and alternator checked out first. How old is the battery?
  14. What happens if you let the revs drop to idling speed?
  15. After a long run, can you start the car or is the battery flat?
  16. Even my lowly SE has them. Controlled by the mirror switch.
  17. https://fuse-box.info/skoda/skoda-octavia-mk3-5e-2017-2018-fuse-box-diagram There is a table here telling you the amps dependant on the colour of the fuse.
  18. This is the exact same battery I have. Original battery and showing no signs of giving up, altho having said that now🙂 S/S used all the time.
  19. How old it the battery? Might be worth getting it checked out.
  20. Could just be the cap not sealing properly.
