Dreaded water pump , thermostat housing leak. Goodwill refused at the main dealer. Should I go to Skoda UK?
I'll amend that "as used to be recommended". Should still have been done going by guidelines in place at that time.

Was the timing belt replaced when it got to 5 years old as recommended by Skoda UK? A new pump should have been fitted then. If you can prove it was, then there is a better chance of a goodwill gesture.

I’ve got a few questions…..
- A Dingling Cable, What is it and where it is supposed to go???HELP!
- Amundsen, lost postcode option for nav search.
Which unit do you have?- Unknown substance in engine bay?
I'm surprised the garages haven't picked it up.- Replacing rear discs and pads.
My rear pads & discs are original from 2013 and on 62K. Front pads only replaced at 45K.- Steering wheel covering view of the top of the tachometer & speedometer
Not as issue for me on this car or any other car I've driven.- Warning lights after puncture repair
Could have disturbed a wire going to the ABS sensor on the wheel they changed, altho the ABS light should have come on.- COOLANT TANK
I'd forgotten that- VRS 2019 Sat Nav problem
What unit do you have?- Clutch pedal
Well, Skoda's motto is "simply clever".- COOLANT TANK
It makes some sense to change the pump at the same time as the belt due to its relationship with the belt even if its given no trouble There's no guarantee that the new pump won't fail prematurely.- COOLANT TANK
In the UK, Skoda recommend a belt change every 5 years, so the water is changed then. I believe that if the car has the silikat bag it extends the working life of the water way beyond 5 years.- COOLANT TANK
For the TDI's it would be until the timing belt was changed.- Clutch pedal
Seems like engine oil as you have to top up more often. Oil is thinner after a run making it easier to leak from somewhere.- COOLANT TANK

Do these components work?- Clutch pedal
When you wipe it, what colour is it?- Clutch pedal
The steering is electric, no fluid reservoir.- Mk 3 Octavia - alternator low output
Well, it wouldn't work at all first thing but at the end of my trip it did work and read 80%- Octavia mk4 1.5 tsi manual transmision
Get it back to the garage under warranty.- Mk 3 Octavia - alternator low output
Out of interest, would a smart charger only charge to around 80%?- Mk 3 Octavia - alternator low output
The odd times I've checked the SOC using the trip set button, I've never seen more than about 70%. I'll check it in a few days time before starting the engine (not used for about 2 wks) and again after a 250 mile trip I'm planning. - A Dingling Cable, What is it and where it is supposed to go???HELP!
