  1. Are you engaged to your car?😘
  2. Must remind myself not to take any advice from you. My 1.6 TDI, DSG could not perform any better in city traffic. Stop/start system works as required, smooth take offs, no hesitation, no overheating. If you're speaking from your own experience then there something seriously wrong with your car. As long as you don't interrupt the re-gens too many times the DPF is not a problem. Go back to a manual gearbox for city driving?. Not a chance.
  3. If you did, then I apologise, but I can't see the post.
  4. Very helpful. Are you under the official secrets act that you can't tell us how you "sorted" it?
  5. Have you seen this thread?
  6. There are not many fuses. Just pull them out and check. See if the socket in the boot works as it's on the same circuit.
  7. Is it possible that the temp rose a bit because it was doing a regen?. The dpf light coming on at the same time could be a warning that it's getting full of ash. The pumps only done 15K so that should not be problem.
  8. Agree. Never going to dry out if you can't find the cause of the problem.
  9. Well, you don't have to worry anymore as you've downloaded the last & latest update. VW have dropped support for map updates on MIB1
  10. This is one of quite a few threads which you can search for in this forum.
  11. I think it's under memory management in satnav settings
  12. Did you use the old or new card?
  13. Some people have deleted the countries they know they'll never go to. That has reduced the size.
  14. I've only seen the message "no playable files" when playing around with music files. People have run into problems using a Mac as it adds extra files. Can you use a PC?. Will give you far less problems. I use to format, but now just erase the old files Your car is the same age as mine, and putting in my VIN the latest available maps are ECE 2020/2021 This will be the last update as VW have stopped support for MIB1
  15. Sure I read somewhere that in the tool kit, the Allen key is for removing the torx screws holding the light cluster in place and that the metal hook in the the tool kit can be used for removing the trim to get to the torx screws. I stand to be corrected.
  16. I understand what you're saying, I have the same experience with the lurching The idle speed is normal at around 750 with it in gear and brakes on. As soon as I release the brakes, the idle goes up to 1000 and the car moves off smoothly and likewise coming to a stop, all very smooth. If you're having this problem in start/stop traffic then maybe there is a problem. The "lurching" is caused by the brakes going on and off and revs going up and down as you try to drive slowly into a small space.. Annoying, but for me it's only when I'm putting it into my very narrow garage that it happens. Does your Audi have a different spec gearbox which you're comparing it with?
  17. Sod's law it will be the wheel you haven't checked. Sounds often come from where you don't expect.
  18. We've all given our opinions, but until the OP replies with exactly what happened & where the damage was no more can be done.
  19. Hence the phrase "Skoda, simply clever"
  20. My take on this. Even if you do not use the ACC, if it was faulty you would have had an error warning on the dash. Did you? Is it possible that the wheel got hit in the incident? If not, and the alignment "was massively out" I think you would have felt the car pulling to one side & have uneven wear on the tyres.

  22. If it was a problem I'm sure there would have been many threads about turbo failures. Same as the start/stop system, some people won't use it because of the supposedly extra wear and tear on the system. I'll bet the majority of owners use their car without giving a second thought to the mechanics and just let the systems take care of everything.
  23. This'll have an interesting answer.
