  1. That's always been the case, but later models are more sensitive. My 2013 model is very easy to control the stop/start
  2. You turn the key to the starter position & then release it. There will be a delay whilst the glow plugs to their thing & then the starter will kick in. No need to hold the key in the starter position.
  3. This has been discussed before but I can't find the thread. Owners of later models such as yours complained it's too enthusiastic to cut out the engine.
  4. Flap reset video in this thread.
  5. Low tech to defeat high tech
  6. There is an option in the settings to turn on the time change
  7. Be careful what you play around with, you could void the warranty.
  8. There is a link here in this thread to a video on re-setting the system. It may work for your later set up.
  9. This is one thread of many. Search for coolant loss in this forum.
  10. Petrol or diesel? Can you post a clip of the noise?
  11. I will carry on as I have been doing. Your comment was completely unnecessary as my comment was in reply to a posters comment which had gone slightly off topic.
  12. I made my point. He should have read the comments to see why it had gone slightly off topic before commenting.
  13. I put my VIN into the checker & was told it's not affected.
  14. My comments were in relation to a comment by @Mrkskoda on 27.2.21 If you want to find fault by things going slightly off topic then start reading the threads from the beginning when this forum was set up. You will find plenty of examples. Suggest in future you look at the comments first to see why they went off topic before commenting.
  15. My 2013 1.6 tdi, dsg has been faultless. If you're doing the the mileage to warrant a diesel then go for it.
  16. This backfired on me completely New belt & pump fitted. After 10 min of running, a popping sound & engine stops. Mechanic blames a failed tensioner caused the belt to slip. He had it towed to a garage of his choice as he didn't want to replace the belt & try again. Engine stripped, most valve stems broken but pistons were ok as it only happened at idle speed. Got it back today & so far so good after an hours test drive. Ironic thing is the old belt was in very good condition. As the saying goes " if it ain't broke, don't fix it". But I'm only following Skoda UK's guidelines for belt replacement.
