  1. That compatibly list is useless and well out of date... My phone isn't listed and works perfectly. Googling for an XIAOMI Redmi Note 10 pro and android auto is inconclusive. It seems to be down to phone configuration and which apps are installed to whether it'll work. It's probably worth plugging it in to a few Android Auto enabled cars to check it works before paying to have smartlink activated.
  2. Given you're around London, it might be worth pinging this company: https://www.vagcarcoding.com/ I've never used them but their owner(?) is an active member on the Ross-tech forum.
  3. Best plan is to get it connected to some diagnostic equipment. Those lights can be caused by many things so until you narrow it down, it's impossible to guess why. As for tyre sensors, you don't actually have sensors in the wheels or tyres. The TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System) uses the ABS sensors to compare the rotation of the four wheels to work out if you have a flat.
  4. Do you have a MK3 or a MK4 Octavia? Your profile states: Model: Octavia mk3 first edition Year: 2020 There wasn't a MK3 'first edition' in 2020 as it was it's final year. There was a MK4 first edition though... Once you confirm I'll ask a mod to move this thread if appropriate.
  5. I'm sorry but the Amundsen and other stock headunit don't support installing apps or apks. There might be some third party solutions to mirror YouTube from your phone although it may require jailbreaking or rooting first
  6. Then yes, it's likely a faulty button. If you're happy with taking small things apart, you can probably remove the entire button set and try dissembly, cleaning and re-assembly. If not, I'd suggest popping them out to check the part number and replacing the entire set
  7. Exactly what happens when you press the button? If nothing happens at all, it's likely a faulty button and needs replacing or possibly cleaning.
  8. I will say this one last time, all four pins are required! In this instance, the "According to equipment" is because some models will have an "all in one" headunit with nothing in the glovebox area. If the screen is part of the headunit, there is no need for a external wire connecting them For more evidence, take a look at this ebay item: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/133253480589 It has the same part number but clearly has all four pins:
  9. Nope - Smartlink was a £150 option in both the May 2015 and July 2016 brochures: However, by the Nov 2017 brochure it was standard across the range: It's more likely it's never been activated on your car. Unless the advertisement claimed smartlink was enabled, I think you're going to have to pay the enablement fee I'm afraid...
  10. There should definitely be four... Some ham fisted 'technician' has managed to break one somehow 😕 Snippet from a wiring diagram showing the four wires and shield below:
  11. You might want to read through this thread: Not sure if there is a fix but it's more related to your engine than this thread
  12. I'd probably try this: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000182146172.html As it's Z-keyed, it will accept any colour plug. It will need soldering by someone competent as it's probably pretty easy to kill the screen if you're not careful
  13. The mirror turn signals connect to the door control modules and I don't recall any settings to change the brightness/voltage 😕 If the original indicators worked fine, I would suggest you contact kopacek and see what they say. At a guess, you might have a faulty batch?
  14. The brightness is set by the design regulations for that particular lamp type... There is a tolerance but if you check their website, the Osram Night Breaker laser D1S is rated at 3200lm ±15% which is identical to the Osram 'original' XenArc D1S. I'd grab whichever genuine Osram or Philips D1S fit your colour temperature/price preference. I certainly avoid any unknown brands or China specials
  15. The two stalks connect to the steering column control module. It will convert the output from the stalk's various resistive ladders into CAN-bus messages and ask the BCM (body control module) to activate the lights, wipers etc. There isn't much a multimeter will achieve to diagnose that... You really should get some kind of diagnostic equipment to read out fault codes and check the coding of various modules. It's entirely possible the dealer replaced the steering column control module with either an incorrect version or just haven't coded it properly! Example wiring diagrams for the steering column control unit:
  16. I'm saying I'm surprised that a car with auto wipers didn't have an auto dimming mirror as standard... If it wasn't factory fitted then I would not expect wiring to be present. However, if a previous owner swapped from an auto dimming to manual dining mirror then yes, it should be there somewhere 👍
  17. Sorry, given you have auto wipers that suggest a RLS (rain light sensor) is fitted and I wasn't aware of any non auto-dimming mirrors that would fit over a RLS. Turns out there is... Back to the point: - If you're lucky, a previous owner has replaced the mirror and the wiring should be present somewhere... - If you're unlucky, the car never had a auto-dimming mirror and the wiring won't be fitted...
  18. I think something is getting misunderstood... OE highline camera - First link I posted: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000197729171.html - Only fits in the larger boot handle hole - Needs the coding I posted in the other thread - Supports different the view modes I posted Chinese style highline camera - Second/third link I posted: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000230897829.html - Options for both sized boot handle holes - No coding required, they some how automatically recode the headunit - Only supports moving guidelines, no other view modes are supported Chinese style lowline camera This is the camera you've installed, there are lots of variants which all behave slightly differently so it can get confusing. Based on the link you posted, option D has two wire links (image below): - Green turns the static parking lines on/off - White changes the output format between CVBS and AHD I would suggest either cutting or re-joining the green wire should enable parking lines You can also fit a 'Chinese style highline camera' but you'll need to un-code the lowline camera and run a new wire from the headunit to camera.
  19. Take a look at your existing mirror, if it has the two sensors circled in red, it's an auto dimming mirror. The dimming can be turned on/off using the button circled in green.
  20. I prefer OE/OEM solutions, that's why I fitted an original camera using the factory wiring diagram. This gives me all the features of a factory fitted camera including a washer jet. It's also fully diagnostic compatible and allows calibration. They are currently about £70 on aliexpress. For example: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000197729171.html Wayland (the OP from that thread) choose a Chinese self programming cameras as it's a plug and play job. Plenty of people use this style as there is no coding required. This makes them easier to install and slightly cheaper, about £40 on aliexpress. For exmaple: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000230897829.html (MQB-CAM A) As to which you should fit, that's completely down to you. The only obvious issue is early MK3's had a small boot handle switch so the OE camera won't fit, in which case the Chinese solution makes more sense. For example: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000230897829.html (MQB-CAM E) Please double check before buying that's it's correct for you car... It might be worth adding a link to the camera you have installed as that might give some clues as to your installation issue
  21. Then I expect you shouldn't have. I'd try reconnecting the wire. Using highline coding on a lowline camera will cause lots of fault codes. It won't solve your problem.
  22. I think the guidelines are generated by the camera so coding won't help. What camera did you install? If it's aftermarket, there is sometimes a wire link that needs cutting to enable them...
  23. I fitted a 'new' cluster and had it programmed but it had a backlight fault so I had to remove it for repairing. When it came to refitting, I need to increase the mileage to account for the time when it had been removed. The software I used was: https://mhhauto.com/Thread-MQB-VAG-Virtual-cockpit-Editor-EXTENDED-VERSION although it was cheaper when I bought it. If you do need the mileage increasing, I'm happy to help as per this post: https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/489327-mqb-instrument-cluster-odometermileage-increase-service/ Yes, up is easy but possibly time consuming. As mentioned before, I've heard rumours there is a down solution but I've no first hand experience. I expect it's fine but I'm no expert on VC. Most my experience comes from retrofitting the one in my Octavia. I've certainly used Aliexpress to buy various other modules without problem in the past. If you currently have a rear washer jet, you just need to T into the existing pipework. Not sure where the washer jet is on a Superb so you may need to replace the pipe for a longer one. On a 2019 Superb, there is no wireless Carplay option. If you already have Carplay, there are a number of 3rd party adaptors that connect to the cars USB socket to add wireless Carplay or Android Auto. I've never used any so I don't have any recommendations.
  24. There are a number of things that need programming after a cluster swap: - component protection (this is the Skoda/VW anti-theft solution) - immobiliser to allow the engine to start - odometer to keep it correct - coding/adaptions to match how your car is configured ODIS is the Skoda/VW factory software that's normally used to program all the above during a cluster swap. Pretty sure both new and used clusters are fine. The only issue is ODIS can only set the odometer if it's a 'new' cluster, this roughly translates as less then 100km if I remember correctly. If it's above this, you'll need 3rd party tools to change the odometer. For example, when I retrofitted my VC, I bought a tool that increased the mileage at ~4000 miles per day. This is fine for smaller increases but obviously not be great for larger corrections. Other points: - generally speaking, it's not possible to reduce the mileage - I believe there is one company that can reset the mileage to allow ODIS to set a new one, I don't have any further details on who or the pricing - I've also heard rumours that ODIS may refuse to code a cluster marked as stolen so be careful when sourcing second hand items
  25. Welcome I believe the attached PDF is correct for a MK3 Octavia hatch. 5E5071126.pdf
