  1. I fitted remote central locking to a 94 Audi 100 Avant. It was an aftermarket kit, which basically operated the central locking via an actuator. It was installed onto the driver side lock and had a separate remote.
  2. They do come out. I have fitted heated washer jets.
  3. Back to the question... Does the wirring change with engine revs? Do you get it with ignition on alone too, i.e. no engine running? does it disappear when all electrics are off - radio, fan?
  4. the washer jets do not move when activated. It could have accidentally popped out...
  5. I wired a Suberb autodimming mirror into the Fabia ceiling and courtesy light. The current draw of the mirror is very small and you have 12V and earth available in the ceiling light assembly.
  6. I assume your son's car has a door lock button inside. Can you lock and unlock all doors using this button? Another possibility for the persistent failure is the fact that a live 12V and a ground cable look damaged in the loom. This could have burnt "something" on the PCB of the door controller.
  7. I fitted a Superb autodimming mirror in a Fabia. I had one spare after fitting a High Beam assist one in the Superb instead. I only needed a bracket, glued it to the windscreen and connected the electrics to the internal light.
  8. Have you ever done any diagnostics, have they checked the ECU?
  9. Do you have corroded contacts causing high resistance in the connector?
  10. I would start checking the voltage on the individual wires in the door now. To check whether there is no damage in the motor you can put 12V direct onto the motor. R/W is the main 12V supply from the fuse 51 and 52. W/Bl and Bl/GN run between the switch and door control unit (J386). GR/Bl supplies the switch lighting. One of 3 wires has to be damaged -R/W, W/Bl or GR/Bl.
  11. We had a problem just like yours. I first went down to the wiper motor and connected it to 12V direct to find it is working. I tested the in and output o the stork. The problem was the relay on the BCM I first ordered the relay but then decided I wanted to a second hand BCM. When you get the BCM just make sure you get the correct one as different spec versions are not directly interchangeable.
  12. Hi, Under the Fabia dashboard there are some relays. You can just peel a cover out and look under there. then put your finger onto the relays and check which one does the clicking sound.
  13. If the procedure does not work, there videos on youtube with stuck shut VAG doors. You have to remove parts of the lock from the outside.
  14. I don’t have AC on all the time on our 2014 SII. I have the recirculation set to Auto. Check you do not have recirculating on, as that causes steaming occasionally. Also as mentioned, check your cabin filter, but rather whether it is not dirty and clogged up. An old cabin filter will allow a lot less air volume through.
  15. We took the car to France for skiing. Theca4 was parked up in -5 to-13. I had to start the car twice and the red coolant together with a message in the MFA to find a dealer came up. I checked the coolant and restarted and the light disappeared. It has not come back since we returned. There were no DTCs. Is this a bad sensor problem?
  16. Just an update on the Toyo Celsius All season tyres in 205/45-16. They have been on the Fabia since last year and have been running in the snow of the French Alps since about December, and so far they have let the car down, i.e. the Fabia on the Toyos has got anywhere where car on full winter tyres got too. I cannot comment on the wear yet, but they are still looking good after a few thousand miles.
  17. Hi, If this is still topical, I have retrofitted an SII autodimming mirror in my daughter's Fabia. I cannot really comment on the Yeti, but assume that it is similar to a Fabia / Roomster.
  18. Hi, If you have replaced the resistor and checked some of the wiring and fuses, I would start checking again, in case I have missed something. 1. Is there power from the actual switch out? 2. Does the blower work if you put 12V straight onto the blower - you need 2 cables for this. 12V and earth. 3. Is your resistor still working? If the fan motor draws a huge current because it has failed the resistor can blow again. 4. Do the wires from the switch to the resistor and from the resistor to the fan have consistency?
  19. I fitted an autodimming SII internal mirror into my daughter's Fabia. The wiring is pretty straight forward. I only used 12V from the internal lights. This is my write-up:
  20. On the Superb this would be an aftermarket camera unless you fitted the High line from another VAG model. Check the connectors behind the radio and then in the boot.
  21. Hi, As UrbanPanzer says, it could be a broken wire, unless the resetting has worked for you. The wires in the driver door flex a lot and tend to break. Ideally this is a trim of door removal job to get to the wires and also measure continuity to the switches.
  22. I fitted Night breakers into my daughter's FII and it was a very slight improvement over OED H7s. I then fitted LEDs after I experimented on my really crap bike head light to improve night riding. LEDs in the FII are much better for output and visibility with still a very precise beam pattern. I still have to wait for the first MOT failure due to the fitted LEDs in the head lights. The car has also got LED side lights fitted.
  23. If it a factory fit with a dance radio or better and you do not have any diagnostic gear, listen close to each sensor. You will hear a fine clicking noise from the ones that are working. The quiet one is broken. I got a replacement off amazon a while back. You can paint them if you have a touch up. Behind the bumper it is fiddly.
  24. You can set that in the MFD or with VCDS.
