Skoda Fabia II 5J - instrument cluster: Permanently active
Jocko's looks more like the SII display setup. Our FII display is more like the OP's display separated into 2 halves.

Skoda Fabia II 5J - instrument cluster: Permanently active
I just had a look at my daughter's FII from 2009. The display is off and even when I work the closed door handle the display stays off. The Fabia normally displays if any door, bonnet or boot is open. The bonnet opening is integrated into the windscreen wash and interrupts when the bonnet is open. Ours is the level 3 / elegance trim. 117 mA is a lot for a shut down FII - I think.

Do you have ABS - anti lock - function?

Water ingress driver footwell (LHD)
Check the bulkhead under the plastic grill and also whether the water is appearing under the car when you poor water onto the roof drain.

Remote key
If one button on the remote is not working, it could be dirt inside the contact pad. You could try and open up the key and make contact with a metal and check if the key works that way. Other wise you might have to get new circuit board. Re. the other key sometimes not working on other doors this could be a problem with a broken wire in the door loom.

Disabling coasting function in facelift DSG cars
I thought, the DSG does not have a direct mechanical link between stick and clutches and it is all actuator controlled, so you should not be able to shift into R for "Rally" when going forward as you would have been able in a manual and grind the cogs. If I go into manual mode on the DSG it will also not allow up or down shifting if I am not in the rev range for the specific gear.

Yeti Greenline 2012 right hand drive, revease buzzer location
Have a look on this PDF. The buzzer looks like being behind the 3. brake light. Time to retrofit a RVC. PDC Yeti.pdf

Disabling coasting function in facelift DSG cars
You can still go into coasting by putting the DSG into N.

Retro fit remote central locking
I fitted remote central locking to a 94 Audi 100 Avant. It was an aftermarket kit, which basically operated the central locking via an actuator. It was installed onto the driver side lock and had a separate remote.

Todays little Mod -- Auto dimming rear view mirror
I wired a Suberb autodimming mirror into the Fabia ceiling and courtesy light. The current draw of the mirror is very small and you have 12V and earth available in the ceiling light assembly.

Fabia door lock puzzle
I assume your son's car has a door lock button inside. Can you lock and unlock all doors using this button? Another possibility for the persistent failure is the fact that a live 12V and a ground cable look damaged in the loom. This could have burnt "something" on the PCB of the door controller.

Todays little Mod -- Auto dimming rear view mirror
I fitted a Superb autodimming mirror in a Fabia. I had one spare after fitting a High Beam assist one in the Superb instead. I only needed a bracket, glued it to the windscreen and connected the electrics to the internal light.

Intermittent Starting Problem
Have you ever done any diagnostics, have they checked the ECU?

High level brake light not working
Do you have corroded contacts causing high resistance in the connector?

passenger's side electric windows not working with normal wires in both bellows?
I would start checking the voltage on the individual wires in the door now. To check whether there is no damage in the motor you can put 12V direct onto the motor. R/W is the main 12V supply from the fuse 51 and 52. W/Bl and Bl/GN run between the switch and door control unit (J386). GR/Bl supplies the switch lighting. One of 3 wires has to be damaged -R/W, W/Bl or GR/Bl.

Front wipers/central electrics control unit
We had a problem just like yours. I first went down to the wiper motor and connected it to 12V direct to find it is working. I tested the in and output o the stork. The problem was the relay on the BCM I first ordered the relay but then decided I wanted to a second hand BCM. When you get the BCM just make sure you get the correct one as different spec versions are not directly interchangeable.

Dashboard lights, all console lights dim every 10 seconds or so after a clicking sound....?
Hi, Under the Fabia dashboard there are some relays. You can just peel a cover out and look under there. then put your finger onto the relays and check which one does the clicking sound.

Roomster Rear offside door stuck shut.
If the procedure does not work, there videos on youtube with stuck shut VAG doors. You have to remove parts of the lock from the outside.

Windows Steaming Up
I don’t have AC on all the time on our 2014 SII. I have the recirculation set to Auto. Check you do not have recirculating on, as that causes steaming occasionally. Also as mentioned, check your cabin filter, but rather whether it is not dirty and clogged up. An old cabin filter will allow a lot less air volume through.

Coolant warning
We took the car to France for skiing. Theca4 was parked up in -5 to-13. I had to start the car twice and the red coolant together with a message in the MFA to find a dealer came up. I checked the coolant and restarted and the light disappeared. It has not come back since we returned. There were no DTCs. Is this a bad sensor problem?

Toyo Celsius All Season
Just an update on the Toyo Celsius All season tyres in 205/45-16. They have been on the Fabia since last year and have been running in the snow of the French Alps since about December, and so far they have let the car down, i.e. the Fabia on the Toyos has got anywhere where car on full winter tyres got too. I cannot comment on the wear yet, but they are still looking good after a few thousand miles.
