Road tax prices
Many ( 13 + ) tax bands in 2003, from £0.00 to £580.00 PA. see here :- https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-tax-rate-tables/rates-for-cars-registered-on-or-after-1-march-2001 I bought a new car in 2003 which was £85.00 PA then, but went down to £30.00 by 2016 when I sold it. Thanks, AG Falco

Consumption data
Because this is live instantaneous fuel consumption. In a low gear with large throttle openings you could be doing as little as 10 MPG. Take your foot off the throttle and it will rise to 300 if the engine is above about 1400 RPM and you are still in gear. When stationary and with the engine running it will read _ _ _ because you are doing 0 MPG. It is always changing as you speed up / slow down, go up hills and down. Each gear change up will improve the number. Read the Manuals ( both ) for more info. Thanks, AG Falco

Daylight driving lights
I my 2016 Fabia I can turn them off via the infotainment system. So on car's post April 2018 you might find you cannot turn them off. It's legislation to help the dumb. Some people don't know how and when to have lights on / or off. Had a customer in last week that didn't know how to turn their side / parking lights on. Thanks, AG Falco

Best pressure for large spare tyre
Air only ever comes out of a tyre when left. So if the spare wont get checked regularly then put too much in when is is checked. It is better to have a little too much air rather than too little. I set my spare to the max load pressure for the car. If when you go to use the spare and find it is flat it is no use at all. As a rough rule of thumb, the wider the tyre, the lower the profile, the faster the car goes, the heavier the car is, then the higher the pressure wanted. Slow tractors with big profile tyre = low pressure. Faster lorries with heavy loads = high pressure. Thanks, AG Falco

Best pressure for large spare tyre
Present version of the 'Highway Code' on page 129:- Tyre Pressures. Check weekly. Do this before your journey, when tyres are cold. Warm or hot tyres may give a misleading reading. Note:- 3 points and or £2500 fine for an incorrectly inflated tyre. ( Per Tyre ) See page 126. This is incorrectly inflated for the load being carried at the time. Tyre Pressure goes up when hotter and down when cold. Tyres will get hotter, when driven, the faster you go, the heavier the vehicle is, the lower the pressure that is in them. When a tyre hits a pothole / speed bump the pressure momentarily increases beyond the maximum inflated pressure limit of the tyre. Thanks, AG Falco

Best pressure for large spare tyre
The maximum pressure the tyre can take is 3.0 Bar. This will be marked on the sidewall. You want this pressure in the tyre when it is in the boot. Or at least above the loaded / Eco / High speed pressure that your normal tyres require. If / when you have to use the tyre adjust the pressure down to the same pressure as the rest of your tyres have in them. Thanks, AG Falco

Fabia Redline noise question
Check Goodyear Efficient grip performance in both version 1 & 2. In the top three in a recent big tyre test. B for fuel efficiency. But the nut between the steering wheel and the drivers seat has the best control over this. A for wet grip. As good as you can get. 67Db very low External noise done on a drive by test. They are also lighter than most tyres in the same size. I like the way Confused.com are confused by tyres. The link above has a tyre size that doesn't exist. But if you correct the size then in doesn't come in that weight rating or speed rating. Anybody managed to buy some average tyres. D Fuel, D Wet Grip and 70 DB noise? Thanks, AG Falco

15 or 16 inch wheels for ride comfort?
You will also find some tyre manufactures have a thicker / stiffer side wall compared to other manufactures in the same size. Then some manufacture of tyres make different thickness / stiffness of side wall in the same size. Pirelli only make 3700 different types of passenger tyres. You can find that they can have as many a 20 different tyres in one size. Thanks, AG Falco

2015 Skoda no electrics even after new battery
No. If the new battery is that bad already is will have suffered some degradation already. Perhaps take the multi meter with you when you swap the battery for a new one. Could the car have a big short that is killing the new battery? Thanks, AG Falco

2015 Skoda no electrics even after new battery
EFB battery on my Fabia III is 4.5 years old and is showing 12.61 volts using a £10.00 multimeter. Set the multimeter to Volts DC and place the red probe on the positive battery terminal. Then place the black probe on the negative terminal and note the reading. Can you test your multimeter on something else like another car battery or an AA battery. The under bonnet fuse box is a black plastic box just behind the negative battery terminal. It is a clam shell that opens from the left end if you are at the front of the car. Thanks, AG Falco

2015 Skoda no electrics even after new battery
A Good battery will be 12.8 volts or higher. All the voltages you note are much to low. What batteries did you buy, EFB of AGM? Did you collect the new batteries or were they delivered? Are / were the new batteries charged when received. Thanks, AG Falco

View car computer history related to service and service intervals?
If the car is on fixed oil changes then this is 372 days / 15000 KM. in the UK. If you reset the oil change from variable to fixed you cannot change it back. A dealer might be able to do this. An oil change service is different from an inspection service but can be done at the same time, check mileage / time for what is checked. The Inspection service will stay at 2 years but if an inspection is done at the same time the oil service is done it can be reset then. This is for mine:- SKODA Fabia III (NJ) 1.2 TSi (CJZD) 01.2015 - 01.2017 Maintenance / Repair manual / Service indicator reset (2014 - ) Service indicator reset Vehicles with keyless entry system: Close all the doors Close the boot/tailgate Close the bonnet Oil service reset: Press and hold button (1) Button 1 is the trip reset button marked ' 000/SET' Turn the ignition on 'DELETE OIL CHANGE' appears on the display Release the button Select 'Reset oil change interval' Press and hold button (1) The system is reset. Inspection service reset: 'DELETE INSPECTION' appears on the display Press and hold button (1) If necessary: Turn the ignition off Repeat the procedure After turning the ignition off and on again Press and hold button (1) for 2 seconds 'DELETE OIL CHANGE' appears on the display Release the button Page 1 of 2 Press button (1) again The system is reset. Hope this helps. Thanks, AG Falco
